Newt knows Nancy

The Democrats now control the House of Representatives and San Francisco Democrat Nancy Pelosi is set to become speaker, one of the most powerful constitutional offices in the United States. Do you really know Nancy Pelosi? Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich does.

He has warned that a Democratic victory will turn the House over to "the San Francisco values of would-be Speaker Nancy Pelosi." Just how dangerous, then, is the House minority leader from California to those who hold to traditional conservative values? Pelosi is one of the most liberal members of the House, receiving a 95 percent "liberal quotient" from the Americans for Democratic Action based on her support for the liberal position in key votes.

She voted against cutting taxes by $70 million, against renewing the Patriot Act, against reducing the death tax, against drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and against making it a crime to desecrate the U.S. flag. She supports gay marriage, and backed legislation allowing overseas military facilities to provide abortions for women in the military and military dependents.

The new speaker also backed a measure calling for a timetable for withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, supported a bill requiring a 72-hour background check for persons buying weapons at gun shows — and opposed a bill strengthening the enforcement of immigration laws.

Pelosi's Hypocrisy

But a look behind the scenes exposes Pelosi as a Democratic leader who passionately fights for liberal policies, yet goes to great lengths to avoid applying those policies in her personal life. Best-selling author Peter Schweizer's book "Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy" first revealed the glaring contradictions between Pelosi and other prominent liberals' public stances and their real-life behavior. [Check out our free offer for this book. Go Here Now.]

Pelosi claims to be a staunch union supporter, and, along with her husband, has received the Cesar Chavez award from the United Farm Workers Union, notes Schweizer. Unions are, in her words, "fighting for America's working families" and battling "the union-busting, family-hurting" Bush administration. But Schweizer uncovered that a $25 million Northern California vineyard the Pelosis own is a non-union shop!

Pelosi's hypocrisy doesn't stop there. The congresswoman is the top recipient among members of Congress in campaign contributions from labor unions, and has received more money from the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union than any other member of Congress in the last several election cycles. But in addition to the wine business, the Pelosis own a large stake in the exclusive Auberge du Soleil hotel in Rutherford, Calif. The hotel has more than 250 employees; but once again, Schweizer found, it is strictly a non-union shop.

The Pelosis are also partners in a restaurant chain called Piatti, which has 900 employees. "But a union card is not required to work there bussing tables, washing dishes, serving guests, or preparing food," Schweizer wrote in NewsMax Magazine. "As with Auberge du Soleil, at Piatti the Pelosis' commitment to organized labor ends at the front door." Pelosi has also demonstrated hypocrisy on the environment. "With us," she proclaims, "the environment is not an issue — it's an ethic. It's a value." That's what she says.

Schweizer exposed what she does: One of her largest investments is a private partnership called Lions Gate Limited, which operates the CordeValle Golf Club and Resort in San Martin, Calif. To get a permit to build the facility, the partners promised to build a "public course" providing considerable access to non-members, and to abide by several environmental requirements to ensure that there would be minimal ecological damage. But after the facility opened, the county's Planning Commission found that the golf course was in fact private — and the club had "ignored" many of its permit requirements concerning the environment! "The reality is that liberals like to preach in moral platitudes," says Schweizer.

"But when it comes to applying those same standards to themselves, liberals are found to be shockingly guilty of hypocrisy."
-----------------------------------
What Pelosi has stood for:
Squishing the skulls of half-born babies and vacuuming out their brains.
Keeping taxes high.

What Pelosi has stood against:

Parental notification of minors who want to abort their babies.
The death penalty for anyone other than babies.
Welfare reform.
Permitting prayer in school.
Allowing the Ten Commandments to be displayed on public property.
School vouchers.
Raising the child tax credit.
Reducing our dependence on Muslims and maniacs like Hugo Chavez by drilling in ANWR.
Free trade.
The B-2 bomber.
Missile defense.

There isn't much that the Queen of Obstruction doesn't try to block. She was even opposed to the foolishly extravagant $400-billion Medicare prescription drug bill, if only because she preferred one that cost twice as much. The odds of any constructive legislation getting through a Congress controlled by Pelousy are nil — despite nimble action being required on the part of the government to protect the country from terrorism, secure our energy supply, and stem the Mexican invasion before it leads to disaster.

Gore / Kucinich in '08

Taken from the DailyKos .

A Match Made in Heaven? (and not a chance in Hell to win !)

Al Gore and Dennis "Bulldog" (snicker) Kucinich are two warriors with the stones to face Global Warming. We have ten years to manifest drastic change or we can kiss the Earth goodbye - these men GET IT! Gore and Kucinich are not members of the club - they are visionaries with the courage to lead in our greatest challenge.

Kinda makes you want to puke.

Democratic agenda - investigate, investigate, investigate

I have a hunch that not much will get done in the next couple of years.
Halliburton, the CIA and big tobacco companies are among the early targets identified by top Democratic staff to ABC News as likely targets for investigation once the Democrats take control of the House at the beginning of next year.
Defense contractors, including Halliburton, the intelligence rationale for the war in Iraq and CIA secret prisons are what one staffer called "uninvestigated scandals."
Here's a look at who's in line to take over the most powerful committee chairmanships and the investigations they are likely to pursue:

The staffers say Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), now expected to become speaker, has told top Democratic donors there is a "100-hour agenda" she wants to push through -- taking on the minimum wage, drug and energy prices and corruption.

Rush Limbaugh: Why Republicans Lost

I heard this on Rush this morning, and had to agree with him.....

Republicans lost control of the House, and perhaps the Senate, because they abandoned their conservative principles and in the end stood for nothing, Rush Limbaugh said today.

In his Wednesday broadcast, America’s top talker said that until Republicans begin asking themselves what’s wrong with themselves they are never going to fix their problems.

When things go wrong, Rush said, "you must look inward and ask first, ‘What did we do wrong? What could we have done better? What mistakes did we make?”

Commenting that although Republicans lost, "Conservatism did not lose, Republicanism lost last night. Republicanism, being a political party first, rather than an ideological movement, is what lost last night.”

The Democrats, he said "beat something last night with nothing. They advanced no agenda other than their usual anti-war position. They had no contract — they really never did get specific. Their message was one of ‘vote for us; the other guys have been in power too long.’”

Rush further admonished, "There was no dominating conservative message that came from the [Republican] top and filtered down throughout in this campaign.”

He added that if there was conservatism in the campaign, it was on the Democratic side: "There were conservative Democrats running for office in the House of Representatives and in a couple of Senate races won by Democrats yesterday.” He cited James Webb as an example.

story...

This Election might be Good for GOP in 2008

A column by Charles Krauthammer spells it out. They can no longer sit back and whine and complain about how bad things are going. They now have to join in the government in a very hard situation in Iraq and elsewhere. If things don’t go well, they will share in the blame, whereas had the Republicans maintained the House and the Senate they would be the fall guys for every calamity or misadventure between now and then.

Way to go, Minnesota

Keith Ellison, The Wahhabist Choice For Congress

Ellison was not only a member of Louis Farrakhan's rabidly anti-Semitic Nation of Islam, friendly with people who murdered policemen and those who have been engaged in domestic terrorism but he is the choice of the Saudi Wahhabist lobby in his run for Congress and has actively courted groups with Islamist sympathies, with ties to organizations like Hamas and those who believe that the U.S. Constitution should be replaced with Sharia law.

The one word which is glaringly absent from Ellison's campaign website is "terrorism."

This should not be surprising since Keith X is being financed and endorsed by a group which aids and abets it; the Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR], a Saudi funded front group for Hamas which Middle East scholar Daniel Pipes has characterized as "'moderate' friends of terror."

Under the heading "Crime and Safety" Ellison states that, "I have been to too many funerals of young people to be anything but a strong supporter of law enforcement, but I also believe it must be balanced by other factors."

Perhaps by "balance" Ellison was referring to his call for the release of Sara Jane Olsen aka Sister Soliah, a member of the urban guerrilla Symbionese Liberation Army [the group which kidnapped Patty Hearst] who had pled guilty to placing bombs underneath two LAPD police cars .

Or maybe it's Ellison's support of cop killers Assata Shakur and Mumia Abu-Jamal?

Is Ellison's committment to "balance" the root of his agreement with Nation of Islam bigot Joanne Jackson's statement that Jews are, "the most racist white people" or his work with gang-leader Sharif Willis who murdered Minneapolis Police Officer Jerry Haaf?

Evolution of teaching math

This was given to me as a joke, but as I was reading it, I realized that it was both true and sad.

Math 1950-2006

Last week I purchased a burger at Burger King for $1.58. The counter girl took my $2 and I was digging for my change when I pulled 8 cents from my pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the nickel and 3 pennies, while looking at the screen on her register. I sensed her discomfort and tried to tell her to just give me two quarters, but she hailed the manager for help. While he tried to explain the transaction to her, she stood there and cried.

Why do I tell you this?

Because of the evolution in teaching math since the 1950s:

1. Teaching Math In 1950

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price. What is his profit?

2. Teaching Math In 1960

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price, or $80. What is his profit?

3. Teaching Math In 1970

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $80. Did he make a profit?

4. Teaching Math In 1980

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $80 and his profit is $20. Your assignment: Underline the number 20.

5. Teaching Math In 1990

A logger cuts down a beautiful forest because he is selfish and inconsiderate and cares nothing for the habitat of animals or the preservation of our woodlands. He does this so he can make a profit of $20. What do you think of this way of making a living? Topic for class participation after answering the question: How did the birds and squirrels feel as the logger cut down their homes? ( There are no wrong answers.)

6. Teaching Math In 2006

Un hachero vende una carretada de maderapara $100. El costo de la producciones es $80. Cuanto dinero ha hecho?

Bush Fails To Prevent Buffalo, New York Blizzard

Thanks to my good friend Rob.

Minorities Hit Hardest

NBC News reports......

President Bush and his staff sit comfortably in the White House, the snow continued to pile up on the many poor and African American victims in the Buffalo, NY area who could not afford to get out of town or to safety in Florida. Crucial supplies of blankets, hot cocoa, popcorn, gold jewelry, plasma TVs, Colt 45 and dark rum - so essential to surviving the stress of any major snowstorm - lay in stores
un-delivered.

"Where is the government? I need my sidewalk shoveled so I can get out to buy my lottery tickets!" said one Buffalo resident from his living room. "Why are we wasting money in Iraq when we could be spending it here on me?

"Progressive blogs blasted the President for his inaction. "We find the timing terribly suspicious - just as the North Korean sanctions kick into high gear, what happens? A major northeast Blizzard. Why now?" wrote one blogger.

Hearings into the Blizzards' effect on hearings are almost acertainty. Howard Dean has suggested he will call for an investigation once his new medications kick in and John Kerry took a break from his vacation in Aspen to call for new legislation outlawing snowstorms. "The Republican Congress has dropped the ball once again. I have always been astaunch supporter of anti-snow legislation, except for certain locations where I ski. Snow has no business on our roads and the President and Congress know that.

"Calls for impeachment over "SnowGate" as some are calling it already are mounting as deeply as the snow itself, and what will be discovered underneath will prove to have a truly chilling effect on the Republicans, as the inevitable thaw proceeds.

This just in... More breaking news...Jesse Jackson wants an investigation as to why snow is ALWAYS white.

It is reported that Dick Cheney has stock in Tru-Value Hardware. Do you have any idea how many SNOW SHOVELS they sold today to the unsuspecting consumer?

The American people will demand to know why FEMA has been so late in reacting to this storm. THEY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN IT WAS COMING! And yet they failed to have crews in place to fix the electricity as soon as it went off. It just shows that Bush and the Republicans just don't care about the people in the Northeast. The Senate needs toinvestigate this with administration personnel under oath.

We speculate that the great junior senator from N.Y. has opened the doors of her Long Island mansion to all of the heatless poor of her neighborhood and is busy baking cookies for them while her husband applies body heat to the nearly frozen teen-aged girls.

John Kerry

He is the GOP's October surprise !

Kerry Belittles U.S. Troops

This is how the Democrats "support" our troops. While our brave men and women are fighting and defending America half way around the world, back home a leading Democrat says they're there because their stupid. These are the people who want lead our country.

If the Democrats think our troops are stupid, what does that say about the Democrats ability to protect America?

Here's a transcipt.

“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

This is the typical denegration of our troops from the Democrats. To the Democrats our troops are either poor or stupid, why else would they volunteer to fight for America? Patiotism is unknown to the Democrats. Ted Kennedy's KGB connections are proof of that.

But like most things that come out of Kerry and the Democrats mouths, the truth is quite different.

France Surrenders

A tip of the hat to Barking moonbat early warning system for this....

I believe it was P.J. O’Rourke who said, “Contrary to popular belief, World War does not start when France surrenders. World War starts when the French begin collaborating with their invaders.” If that is the case (and who could doubt P.J.?), it is officially now the start of World War III.

I am stunned at the ignorance and lack of backbone of the Fwench once again. The Frogs never cease to amaze me but this time they have outdone any prior acts of insanity and/or cowardice, including building that ridiculous Maginot Line.

A year after two asshat Muslim kids ran away from police and managed to electrocute themselves when they jumped into a power substation to escape capture, sparking weeks of riots that left Paris burning, what do the Fwench do? THEY BUILD A DAMN MEMORIAL TO THE IDIOTS AND LAY A WREATH AT THE POWER STATION WHERE THEY FRIED THEMSELVES!

Yes, you read that right. Try and read it again. Savor the exquisite taste of appeasement, surrender and collaboration with the invaders. Wrap your brain around the concept. Try to rationalize it. ... ... ... ... It ain’t working, is it?

Forget it then. Fwance will always be Fwance. A nation of lily-livered, gutless, spineless, nutless, cheese-eating surrender-monkeys. This time they’re on their own. No bailing their ass out again. America will sit this one out, Fwenchie! We only regret the two prior visits over there to save their ungrateful butts. Never again!

New York Honors Fidel Castro With Statue

JFK must be spinning in his grave....

It's only fitting that New York honor Fidel Castro with a massive monument in Central Park to be unveiled November 8th. "The portrait celebrates Castro's humanitarianism," gushes David Kesting, the spokesman for the statue's sculptor. "Inspiration for the gilded head of Castro, large enough to belong to a 25 foot man, comes from Harlem's acclamation for Castro's contributions to civil rights," reads a wire story.

In reality he craved the nuclear incineration of the entire metropolis. "If the missiles had remained we would have used them against the very heart of the U.S., including New York City," admitted his sidekick Ernesto "Che" Guevara, thinking he was speaking "off the record" to London's Daily Worker in November 1962.

A monument heralding Hitler in Warsaw, London or Rotterdam would make more sense.

How Russia deals with Islamic terrorists

No way the libs would let us react this way. What would the world think of us. I guess the Russians didn't care back then.

The Russians go in and play by terrorist rules. They terrorize the terrorists. Back in the 1980s, for example,Islamic terrorists in Lebanon kidnapped a Russian diplomat. The Russians (then the Soviets, a distinction without much difference in these matters) quickly found out which faction had their guy, kidnapped a relative of one of the kidnappers, and had a body part delivered to the Islamic kidnappers. The message was, release the Russian diplomat unharmed, or the KGB (Soviet secret police) would keep sending body parts, and grabbing kinfolk of the kidnappers. The Russian diplomat was released.

No muslim arrests in UK during Ramadan for reasons of 'religious sensitivity'

Not only are British police being told to enter suspected Muslim homes in their socks, not to use bomb sniffing dogs and not to make arrest during daily prayer times (that's five times a day), now the police are being told not to make arrests during Ramadan.

Does this mean that no Catholic arrests during Easter?

Dem Says Bringing Terrorists To Justice A "Major Blow To Who We Are"

How do you win the war on terror with an attitude and perspective like this?

How could we as freedom loving Americans ever allow Democrats to regain power when clearly they have no interest in protecting American lives or our way of life?

Wow, if you weren't sure Democrats were weak on terror before... this should convince you... Democrat Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut regrets that he didn't filibuster the terror interrogation bill recently signed by President Bush, calling the legislation a "major blow to who we are."
Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., said he regretted being talked out of filibustering tough new tribunal legislation signed by president Bush on Tuesday, and plans to seek new legislation to overturn portions of the bill.

Dodd denounced the measure, which civil liberty groups have said endangers many freedoms."It's a major, major retreat for us as a people," Dodd said during a visit to Iowa on Tuesday afternoon. "It's incredible what they did."

The measure signed by Bush sets up military tribunals to try terror suspects and allows the introduction of evidence obtained through tough interrogation procedures. It also suspends rights such as habeas corpus, which requires that suspects be brought to court to ensure they are being held legally and if they should be released.

Dodd said he initially intended to filibuster the bill but was talked out of it by other Democrats who said there wouldn't be enough votes to support the filibuster.

"I regret now that I didn't do it," he said. "This is a major, major blow to who we are."The truth comes out... To Democrats like Dodd, fighting terrorism is a "major blow to who we are."

How to lose a war

Sounds like the Dems want to repeat history....

What did the North Vietnamese leadership think of the American antiwar movement? What was the purpose of the Tet Offensive? How could the U.S. have been more successful in fighting the Vietnam War? Bui Tin, a former colonel in the North Vietnamese army, answers these questions in the following excerpts from an interview conducted by Stephen Young, a Minnesota attorney and human-rights activist [in The Wall Street Journal, 3 August 1995]. Bui Tin, who served on the general staff of North Vietnam's army, received the unconditional surrender of South Vietnam on April 30, 1975. He later became editor of the People's Daily, the official newspaper of Vietnam. He now lives in Paris, where he immigrated after becoming disillusioned with the fruits of Vietnamese communism.

Question: How did Hanoi intend to defeat the Americans?

Answer: By fighting a long war which would break their will to help South Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh said,

"We don't need to win military victories, we only need to hit them until they give up and get out."

Q: Was the American antiwar movement important to Hanoi's victory?

A: It was essential to our strategy. Support of the war from our rear was completely secure while the American rear was vulnerable. Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at 9 a.m. to follow the growth of the American antiwar movement. Visits to Hanoi by people like Jane Fonda, and former Attorney General Ramsey Clark and ministers gave us confidence that we should hold on in the face of battlefield reverses. We were elated when Jane Fonda, wearing a red Vietnamese dress, said at a press conference that she was ashamed of American actions in the war and that she would struggle along with us.

Q: Did the Politburo pay attention to these visits?

A: Keenly.

Q: Why?

A: Those people represented the conscience of America. The conscience of America was part of its war-making capability, and we were turning that power in our favor. America lost because of its democracy; through dissent and protest it lost the ability to mobilize a will to win.

Q: How could the Americans have won the war?

A: Cut the Ho Chi Minh trail inside Laos. If Johnson had granted [Gen. William] Westmoreland's requests to enter Laos and block the Ho Chi Minh trail, Hanoi could not have won the war.

Q: Anything else?

A: Train South Vietnam's generals. The junior South Vietnamese officers were good, competent and courageous, but the commanding general officers were inept.

Q: Did Hanoi expect that the National Liberation Front would win power in South Vietnam?

A: No. Gen. [Vo Nguyen] Giap [commander of the North Vietnamese army] believed that guerrilla warfare was important but not sufficient for victory. Regular military divisions with artillery and armor would be needed. The Chinese believed in fighting only with guerrillas, but we had a different approach. The Chinese were reluctant to help us. Soviet aid made the war possible. Le Duan [secretary general of the Vietnamese Communist Party] once told Mao Tse-tung that if you help us, we are sure to win; if you don't, we will still win, but we will have to sacrifice one or two million more soldiers to do so.

Q: Was the National Liberation Front an independent political movement of South Vietnamese?

A: No. It was set up by our Communist Party to implement a decision of the Third Party Congress of September 1960. We always said there was only one party, only one army in the war to liberate the South and unify the nation. At all times there was only one party commissar in command of the South.

Q: Why was the Ho Chi Minh trail so important?

A: It was the only way to bring sufficient military power to bear on the fighting in the South. Building and maintaining the trail was a huge effort, involving tens of thousands of soldiers, drivers, repair teams, medical stations, communication units.

Q: What of American bombing of the Ho Chi Minh trail?

A: Not very effective. Our operations were never compromised by attacks on the trail. At times, accurate B-52 strikes would cause real damage, but we put so much in at the top of the trail that enough men and weapons to prolong the war always came out the bottom. Bombing by smaller planes rarely hit significant targets.

Q: What of American bombing of North Vietnam?

A: If all the bombing had been concentrated at one time, it would have hurt our efforts. But the bombing was expanded in slow stages under Johnson and it didn't worry us. We had plenty of times to prepare alternative routes and facilities. We always had stockpiles of rice ready to feed the people for months if a harvest were damaged. The Soviets bought rice from Thailand for us.

Q: What was the purpose of the 1968 Tet Offensive?

A: To relieve the pressure Gen. Westmoreland was putting on us in late 1966 and 1967 and to weaken American resolve during a presidential election year.

Q: What about Gen. Westmoreland's strategy and tactics caused you concern?

A: Our senior commander in the South, Gen. Nguyen Chi Thanh, knew that we were losing base areas, control of the rural population and that his main forces were being pushed out to the borders of South Vietnam. He also worried that Westmoreland might receive permission to enter Laos and cut the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

In January 1967, after discussions with Le Duan, Thanh proposed the Tet Offensive. Thanh was the senior member of the Politburo in South Vietnam. He supervised the entire war effort. Thanh's struggle philosophy was that "America is wealthy but not resolute," and "squeeze tight to the American chest and attack." He was invited up to Hanoi for further discussions. He went on commercial flights with a false passport from Cambodia to Hong Kong and then to Hanoi. Only in July was his plan adopted by the leadership. Then Johnson had rejected Westmoreland's request for 200,000 more troops. We realized that America had made its maximum military commitment to the war. Vietnam was not sufficiently important for the United States to call up its reserves. We had stretched American power to a breaking point. When more frustration set in, all the Americans could do would be to withdraw; they had no more troops to send over.
Tet was designed to influence American public opinion. We would attack poorly defended parts of South Vietnam cities during a holiday and a truce when few South Vietnamese troops would be on duty. Before the main attack, we would entice American units to advance close to the borders, away from the cities. By attacking all South Vietnam's major cities, we would spread out our forces and neutralize the impact of American firepower. Attacking on a broad front, we would lose some battles but win others. We used local forces nearby each target to frustrate discovery of our plans. Small teams, like the one which attacked the U.S. Embassy in Saigon, would be sufficient. It was a guerrilla strategy of hit-and-run raids. [lloks like a re-writing of history with the benefit of hindsight]

Q: What about the results?

A: Our losses were staggering and a complete surprise;. Giap later told me that Tet had been a military defeat, though we had gained the planned political advantages when Johnson agreed to negotiate and did not run for re-election. The second and third waves in May and September were, in retrospect, mistakes. Our forces in the South were nearly wiped out by all the fighting in 1968. It took us until 1971 to re-establish our presence, but we had to use North Vietnamese troops as local guerrillas. If the American forces had not begun to withdraw under Nixon in 1969, they could have punished us severely. We suffered badly in 1969 and 1970 as it was.

Q: What of Nixon?

A: Well, when Nixon stepped down because of Watergate we knew we would win. Pham Van Dong [prime minister of North Vietnam] said of Gerald Ford, the new president, "he's the weakest president in U.S. history; the people didn't elect him; even if you gave him candy, he doesn't dare to intervene in Vietnam again." We tested Ford's resolve by attacking Phuoc Long in January 1975. When Ford kept American B-52's in their hangers, our leadership decided on a big offensive against South Vietnam.

Q: What else?

A: We had the impression that American commanders had their hands tied by political factors. Your generals could never deploy a maximum force for greatest military effect.

Watered down sanctions against North Korea approved

To translate that from UN diplo-speak into English, it's a harshly worded memo saying please don't do it again...

Sanctions will include a broad arms embargo, a ban on luxury sales to North Korea and measures to encourage countries to inspect all cargo shipments in and out of the country, in part to frustrate any attempt by Pyongyang to proliferate its weapons technology around the world. International travel will also be forbidden for North Korean officials with any connection to the country's weapons programmes.

If that doesn't strike fear into the heart of a ruthless dictator, I don't know what will...

I guess the tax cuts DO work

Nice article about how the main streammedia ignores any good news about tax cuts.

Sound of Silence: Media Caught Flat-footed by Shrinking Deficit

Oops. Back in 2004, then-ABC White House correspondent Terry Moran argued President Bush's tax cuts were building debt, not prosperity: "Most experts say that making those tax cuts permanent would cause gigantic deficits virtually as far as the eye can see." Early last year, CBS's Bob Schieffer suggested it would be impossible for the federal budget deficit to be cut in half before 2009 without raising taxes: "The government has just got to find some money to finance these programs."

Well, the tax cuts haven't been repealed, and there have been no big new tax increases. But Wednesday the White House announced that final tallies for the federal government's fiscal year ending September 30, 2006, the budget deficit had shrunk from $413 billion two years ago to $248 billion. The federal government collected $2.407 trillion in taxes in FY2006, $122 billion more than originally forecast back in February.

On Wednesday night, ABC and CBS skipped this good economic and budget news.

Democratics who live in Glass Houses.......

Top Ten Things NY Dems Should Do to Show They Actually Condemn Sexual Predation.

10. Demand explanation from Chuck Schumer as to why he did not support expulsion of his then House Caucus-mate Gerry Studds after the Democrat proudly admitted to having sex with a 17-year old male page.

9. Demand explanation from Shelly Silver as to why he didn't fire his Counsel Michael Boxley after the first charge surfaced of Boxley sexually violating a much younger woman, and demand that the Assembly Ethics Committee release a full report on the repeated sexual scandals involving Shelly Silver's Counsel Michael Boxley.

8. Demand that Democratic House leaders explain why they failed to take appropriate action against Congressman Barney Frank after it was revealed that his boyfriend was running an illegal prostitution ring out of Congressman Frank's Washington DC residence.

7. Demand answers on the cover-up of sexual harassment allegations against Erie County Legislator Thomas Mazur.

6. Demand that Democrat led Assembly immediately pass Governor's civil confinement legislation to keep sexual predators out of our neighborhoods and away from our children.

5. Demand that Democrat led Assembly immediately pass Jessica's Law, ending their resistance to the Governor's legislation that would toughen penalties for people who sexually assault or rape children.

4. Demand an explanation from Senator Hillary Clinton as to why then-President Bill Clinton granted a midnight pardon to convicted child molester and former Democratic Congressman Mel Reynolds, immediately commuting the jail sentence of the disgraced Democratic luminary for yet other felony crimes he committed.

3. Demand that Speaker Silver fully investigate and disclose the findings regarding the mysterious resignation of Assemblyman Karben after it was revealed that he allegedly watched gay pornographic movies with an intern and often made unwanted sexual advances toward male interns and staffers.

2. Demand that democrat led Assembly immediately pass Governor's legislation that would toughen penalties on the sick individuals who produce, promote and distribute child pornography.

1. Demand that former Democratic Presidential candidate Jesse Jackson immediately rescind and explain his hiring of convicted child molester -- and former Democratic Congressman -- Mel Reynolds as a "youth counselor."

Statement from New York Republican State Committee Chairman Steve Minarik:
"The facts are clear -- National Democrats have a long and tawdry history of granting sexual predators renomination, reelection, Presidential pardons and even employment as a 'youth counselor' and the leadership of the NY State Democratic Party has played the role of enabler by sitting by silently as such outrages have occurred. Just as troubling, the State Democratic Party leaders like Shelly Silver and Denny Farrell have placed their own sexual scandal skeletons in the closet and refused to open them for the public to see.

"While we question the wisdom of Democrats thinking they can and should campaign on the issue of what is the appropriate response to the serious matter of sexual predation, we know the contrast in past actions speaks loudly to the Democrats weaknesses and the Republicans strengths so we welcome the debate wholeheartedly and hope the Democrats will continue their gross political miscalculation."

Muslim cabdrivers trying to impose Islamic law

How far should our government go to accomidate islamic law? Give me a break !

Scores of Muslim cabdrivers in Minneapolis who say their faith prohibits them from driving passengers with alcohol have sparked a debate over how far a government must go to accommodate Islamic law.

"These taxi cab drivers basically think they're living in they're own countries where it's OK to impose your religious beliefs upon others,"

law forbidding protests within 300 feet of military funerals suspended

U.S. District Judge Karen Caldwell wrote Tuesday that the law could restrict the free speech rights of people in nearby homes, sidewalks and streets, even if they cannot be seen or heard by funeral participants.

I feel a family that is grieving the loss of a son or daughter has a right to do it without being harassed.

There's hope though.....

Kentucky Attorney General Greg Stumbo said he would consider an appeal. "I believe that society has an interest in honoring its war dead. Funerals are times of sacred and solemn reflection which must be protected from aggressive disruption," Stumbo said in a statement.

Al-Qaeda threatens jihad over Pope's remarks

These two sentences from the article sums it up....

The Pope quoted a 14th Century Byzantine emperor who criticised the teachings of Mohammad for endorsing the use of violence, in a speech to an academic audience at a German university last Tuesday.

An Iraqi militant group led by al-Qaeda has threatened to massacre Christians in response to remarks about Islam by Pope Benedict XVI that have caused offence across the Muslim world.

I rest my case.

9/11 Video as seen on Arab TV

Sahab 911 commemorative tape. Chilling.

This from Laura Mansfield.com via Ace:
To view an excerpt of the video, please see
http://www.lauramansfield.com/sahab_090806.wmv"

In addition to the scenes shown on Al Jazeera on Thursday, the video includes previously unseen footage of Azzam the American, describing the September 11 attacks and the hijackers.

As Sahab 911 commemorative tape shows 911 hijackers rehearsing with boxcutters; also shows Azzam the American.

He's a Crunchy nut... advert showing man riding dog sparks fury

Man riding a dog sparks fury, but not a movie about our president being assassinated ? Go figure.
Breakfast food company Kellogg's has come under fire from animal lovers furious about a television advert showing a man riding a dog like a horse.

Nearly 100 complaints have been made against the new Crunchy Nut Cornflakes advert, which shows a very small man finishing work and riding home on the back of an Irish Wolfhound.

Dog lovers say the behaviour in the scene is cruel and could be copied by children.

U.S. rules of engagement bite us in the ass again

Seems that our enemies know that we follow the rules and use it to their advantage. In the meantime they send suicide bombers to another funeral. When the hell are we going to take off the gloves!
We need to get over Western conventions when dealing with terrorist. They make it a practice to attack funerals as has been reported from Iraq to this past weeks attack on a funeral in Afghanistan. Being considerate of others who fly planes into buildings and bomb markets is stupid and sounds like some idiotic UN resolution. Kill them at every opportunity as they call their followers to do to us.

September 13, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - Taliban terror leaders who had gathered for a funeral - and were secretly being watched by an eye-in-the-sky American drone - dodged assassination because U.S. rules of engagement bar attacks in cemeteries, according to a shocking report.

U.S. intelligence officers in Afghanistan are still fuming about the recent lost opportunity for an easy kill of Taliban honchos packed in tight formation for the burial, NBC News reported.

The unmanned airplane, circling undetected high overhead, fed a continuous satellite feed of the juicy target to officers on the ground.

"We were so excited. I came rushing in with the picture," one U.S. Army officer told NBC.

But that excitement quickly turned to gut-wrenching frustration because the rules of engagement on the ground in Afghanistan blocked the U.S. from mounting a missile or bomb strike in a cemetery, according to the report.

Tribute to 9/11 victim - NYPD Police Officer Ramon Suarez

I'm very proud to dedicate this post to one of the heroes of 9/11 and a good family man, Ramon Suarez. May his soul rest in peace, and may God Bless his family.

Officer Suarez served the people of NYC at the Delancy Street Subway station, in Transit District 4. He and fellow Officer Mark Ellis, ran from their station to assist in the rescue at the WTC. He was last seen smiling while trying to calm down a woman he had just carried to safety, reassuring her and others that "it was going to be alright", then headed back into the building.

Officer Suarez leaves behind a grieving family, including his wife, two daughters, one son and two grandchildren.

Officer Suarez' body was found at Ground Zero on Wednesday, December 19, more than 3 months after the collapse of the WTC. A mass and funeral were held on on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, with "thousands" of people in attendance.

We join this family, along with all others who are mourning the loss of loved ones, for those who were injured, and for all who so bravely, thought not of themselves, but of their fellow man. You truly are our heroes.
Here are some additional links dedicated to Officer Ramon Suarez.......

Be sure to watch “The Path to 9/11”

It appears the upcoming ABC mini-series, “The Path to 9/11,” set to air on the eve of the five year anniversary of September 11 has Democrats in a turmoil.

The mini-series will discuss the events and origins that lead to the terrible events of September 11, 2001.

“The Path to 9/11,” a five-hour dramatization laying out the history of the Sept. 11 plot from the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, will be aired over two nights on the anniversary of the attack next week by ABC Television.

Democrats seem to be upset in the portrayal of how the Clinton Administration handled terrorism from the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 to the aborted efforts to capture Osama bin Laden. Are we to believe that these events did not occur?

- After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000
- 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel
- 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel
- 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000
- October 12, 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 3 U.S. sailors

How To Negotiate With Terrorists

How To Negotiate With Terrorists

This brief blog entry takes you through a series of negotiations over time between peacemakers and terrorists:

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of a line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker introduces himself. The terrorist kills him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker asks, "why did you kill my friend?" The terrorist kills him and rapes his wife.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker says, "Stop that!" The terrorist kills him, rapes his daughter and kills his wife.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker says, "I'll pay you $1000 if you stop attacking us." The terrorist agrees to the deal, takes the $1000, and kills him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker appeals to the United Nations. The United Nations says the peacemaker is at fault. The terrorist kills him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker now has a gun, and threatens to use it. Other peacemakers start chanting the old 60's whine, "Can't we all just get along?" The peacemaker hesitates. The terrorist kills him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker tries to convince his peacemaker friends that the terrorists aren't going to respond to negotiations, but they insist that if he kills the terrorist it'll just make the other terrorists mad. The peacemaker reluctantly agrees to try negotiating again. The terrorist kills him., his entire family, and his neighbor's family.

A heated debate now ensues between the peacemakers who want to be nice to the terrorists and the peacemakers who believe that there can never be peace until the terrorists are all dead. While they are debating, the terrorists kill 15 more peacemakers.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker asks himself, "Which is more important: being liked by everyone, or protecting my family?" The terrorist pulls a knife to kill the peacemaker, but the peacemaker pulls a gun and kills the terrorist first.

The United Nations condemns the peacemaker's use of unproportional force. Many of his peacemaker friends turn against him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker apologizes for what his friend did to the other terrorist. The terrorist kills him, his entire family and his neighbors, and threatens to destroy the city as soon as they develop a bigger weapon.

A peacemaker refuses to meet at the line because every time a peacemaker goes to the line the terrorist kills him. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line and fires rockets into the peacemaker's town. The United Nations condemns the way the peacemaker provoked the terrorist by refusing to come to the line and meet with him.

Generations pass and not much changes until one day when the son of a peacemaker decides that the old strategy simply won't work. He walks up to the left side of the line a little early. As the terrorist approaches the right side of the line the peacemaker shoots him. Another terrorist approaches to replace the first, and the peacemaker shoots him too. This scene plays out several more times. Then a terrorist approaches carrying a white flag, but he also has weapons. The peacemaker shoots him. A terrorist next approaches with a ceasefire resolution from the U.N. The peacemaker shoots him also. A large group of terrorists approach and the peacemaker shoots them all and drops a nuclear bomb on the city they came from. The peacemaker continues killing the terrorists until the terrorists are all dead.

There is finally peace on earth and the United Nations takes the credit.

NEW YORK -

Angelina Jolie until the restrictions on who can marry whom are dropped.

"Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able," the 42-year-old actor reveals in Esquire magazine's October issue, on newsstands Sept. 19.

How to enrage liberals: Tell the truth about them.

Donald Rumsfeld steps up to the plate and hits another homer. Immediately after one of his speeches, the dems want to give him a vote of no confidence. The secretary of Defense clarified and expands on what he said in his recent speeches about appeasing extremists.

New Enemies Demand New Thinking.

With the growing lethality and availability of weapons, can we truly afford to believe that vicious extremists can somehow be appeased?

• Can we really continue to think that free countries can negotiate a separate peace with terrorists?

• Can we truly afford to pretend that the threats today are simply "law enforcement" problems rather than fundamentally different threats requiring fundamentally different approaches?

• Can we truly afford to return to the destructive view that America — not the enemy — is the real source of the world's troubles?

These are the central questions of our time, and, as in all periods of conflict, we have no choice but to face them honestly. The last question is particularly important, because this is the first war of the 21st century — a war that, to a great extent, will be fought in the media on a global stage. We cannot allow the terrorists' lies and myths to be repeated without question or challenge.

We also should be aware that the struggle is too important — the consequences too severe — to allow a "blame America first" mentality to overwhelm the truth that our nation, though imperfect, is a force for good in the world.

Consider that a database search of the nation's leading newspapers turns up 10 times as many mentions of one of the soldiers punished for misconduct at Abu Ghraib than of Sgt. 1st Class Paul Ray Smith, the first recipient of the Medal of Honor in the global war on terror.

Then there is the case of Amnesty International, a long-respected human-rights organization, which called the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay the "gulag of our times" — a reference to the vast system of Soviet prisons and labor camps where innocent citizens were starved, tortured and murdered. The facility at Guantanamo Bay, by contrast, includes a volleyball court, basketball court, soccer field and library (the book most requested is "Harry Potter"). The food, served in accordance with Islamic diets, costs more per detainee than the average U.S. military ration.

With examples like these prevalent in the world media, I do worry about the lack of perspective in our national dialogue — a perspective on history and the new challenges and threats that free people face today. Those who know the truth need to speak out against the myths and distortions being told about our troops and our country. My remarks at the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion conventions have generated much discussion. I encourage everyone to read what I actually said at defenselink.mil/speeches.

San Fran Man Injures 15 with his vehicle

Good article by Uncommon insight. Some news articles don't even mention the guys name.

A California man went on a rampage yesterday in his vehicle, intentionally running over pedestrians. Take note of a peculiar media bias as you read about this case. Every single story about the incident will mention that Omeed Aziz Popal's vehicle was an SUV. Most will even mention the color of the vehicle, black, and the model, a Honda Pilot. I'm sure in journalism school the MSM learned to think of these as essential details.

Wouldn't it be pertinent to mention that Omeed Aziz Popal was "male, Muslim, aged 17 to 35" and recently traveled to Afganistan. Wouldn't these details be at least as important as the make, model and color of the weapon the perpretrator used? Americans have a hard to fathoming the fact that radical Islam preaches hate toward us. They hate us. We don't hate them. They wish us harm. We don't often think about them at all.

Here's a letter I'd like to see

Dear Concerned Citizen:

Thank you for your recent letter criticizing our treatment of the Taliban and Al Qaeda detainees currently held at Guantanamo Bay Cuba.

The administration takes these matters seriously, and your opinion was heard loud and clear here in Washington.

You'll be pleased to learn that thanks to the concerns of citizens like you, we are creating the Terrorist Retraining Program, to be called the "Liberals Accept Responsibility for Killers" program, or LARK for short.

In accordance with the guidelines of this new program, we have decided to place one terrorist under your personal care.

Your detainee has been selected and scheduled for transportation to your residence next Monday. Ali Mohammed Ahmed bin Mahmud is to be cared for pursuant to the standards you personally demanded in your letter of admonishment. We will conduct weekly inspections to ensure that your standards of care for Ahmed are commensurate with those you so strongly recommended in your letter.

Although Ahmed is sociopathic and extremely violent, we hope that your sensitivity to what you described as his "attitudinal problem" will help him overcome this character flaw. Perhaps you are correct in describing these problems as "mere cultural differences."

Your adopted terrorist is extremely proficient in hand-to-hand combat and can extinguish human life with such simple items as a pencil or nail clippers. He is also expert at making a wide variety of explosive devices from common household products, so you may wish to keep those items locked up, unless you feel that this might offend him.

Ahmed will not wish to interact with your wife or daughters since he views females as a subhuman form of property. This is a particularly sensitive subject for him. He has been known to show violent tendencies around women who fail to comply with the dress code that he considers appropriate, but I'm sure that over time they will come to enjoy the anonymity offered by the bhurka. Just remind them that it is all part of respecting his culture and his religious beliefs.

Thanks again for your letter. We truly appreciate it when folks like you inform us of the proper way to do our job. Take good care of Ahmed and good luck!

Cordially,

The Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld
Secretary of Defense

Tool or Fool?

From the DANEgerus Weblog, couldn't agree more....

Annan criticises Beirut offensive
Annan called Israel's air and sea blockade of Lebanon a "humiliation" and demanded it be lifted. I guess he brought the HisBully script with him... That would be the "blockade" required to prevent the HisBullies from replacing weapons they shouldn't have had if UN resolution 1559 meant anything. HisBully terrorists Kofi took the time to insist the new UNIFIL force would not disarm demonstrating that the new UN resolution is as pointless as 1559. I also noticed the HisBullies didn't take the bobblehead doll to see any of the HisBully fortifications constructed within yards of UN peacekeepers to shoot rockets at civilians in Israel. Kofi Annan... a Tool and a Fool. Who is writing the checks for him now?

Will the West defend itself?

Good article By Walter E. Williams.

Does the United States have the power to eliminate terrorists and the states that support them? In terms of capacity, as opposed to will, the answer is a clear yes.

Think about it. Currently, the U.S. has an arsenal of 18 Ohio class submarines. Just one submarine is loaded with 24 Trident nuclear missiles. Each Trident missile has eight nuclear warheads capable of being independently targeted. That means the U.S. alone has the capacity to wipe out Iran, Syria or any other state that supports terrorist groups or engages in terrorism -- without risking the life of a single soldier.

---------------------------------------------

After the battle of Midway, and the long string of Japanese defeats in the Pacific, including Guam, Okinawa and the Philippines, had today's Americans been around, they'd be willing to negotiate with Japan for peace, pointing to the additional loss of lives if we continued the war. More than likely they would have made the same argument in 1945, when German defeat was imminent. Of course, had there been a peace agreement with Japan and Germany, all it would have achieved would have been to give them time to recoup their losses and resume their aggression at a later time, possibly equipped with nuclear weapons.

We might also note that the occupation of Germany and Japan didn't pose the occupation problems we face in Iraq. The reason is we completely demoralized our enemies, leaving them with neither the will nor the means to resist.

Our adversaries in the Middle East have advantages that the axis powers didn't have -- the Western press and public opinion. We've seen widespread condemnation of alleged atrocities and prisoner mistreatment by the U.S., but how much media condemnation have you seen of beheadings and other gross atrocities by Islamists?

Terrorists must be pleased by statements of some members of Congress, such as those by Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., who recently said, "I don't take sides for or against Hezbollah." Hezbollah, backed by Iran, is responsible for the 1983 bombing of Beirut barracks killing 241 U.S. service members.

Revisiting the treatment at Guantanamo Bay

HUMANE TREATMENT FOR GITMO PRISONERS -- (House of Representatives - June 21, 2005)
Mr. Speaker, it is about supper time here in the United States. I wonder what is on the plates across our dinner tables. Perhaps lemon baked fish, broccoli, steamed carrots, fresh fruit. Sounds healthy to me, maybe delicious to some. This menu could be on any menu of any home or restaurant in the United States tonight. We even know that some of the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay have actually gained weight while they have been there.

But, Mr. Speaker, this menu is also what is being served in Guantanamo Bay prison on any given night. Mr. Speaker, we have a purpose in Guantanamo Bay. It is to house outlaws, criminals, radical terrorists; they are locked up there.

These detainees are people that have killed Americans and want to keep killing Americans. These are people picked up off the battlefield. They were not wearing uniforms. They were not state sponsored, but there were there for a reason, and that was to execute innocent people on the battlefield.

Some of them have been released. And at least 12 of them have been recaptured on the battlefield trying to kill Americans.

So tomorrow night at Guantanamo Bay, orange glazed chicken, fresh fruit crepes, steamed peas, and mushrooms and rice pilaf. It does not sound like bread and water to me.

And do you think our troops and in Afghanistan and Iraq are getting crepes tonight? Probably not. They are eating C-rations out of cans as they stand there in the desert and the heat, protecting the world for democracy.

Makes sense to me !!

Yet ANOTHER example of LIBS NOT 'GETTING IT'

The article states.....

After a week of dithering, the Bush Administration has finally decided to send Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to the Middle East. But when Condi arrives on Friday, ten days after the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah began, she won't try and push for an immediate ceasefire.

Maybe because cease fires don't work with terrorists. History shows that cease fires only give terrorists time to re-arm.

In 1993 and 1996, Secretary of State Warren Christopher launched a vigorous push for diplomacy that quieted fighting between the Israeli army and Lebanese militants.

Yeah, that worked out really well. We don't need 'quiet time', we need a SOLUTION !

But today, according to the Wall Street Journal, Bush and Rice "have no intention of launching a similar round of diplomacy to end the current fighting. Visiting Damascus is out of the question. And a cease-fire isn't their most pressing aim, they say."

Duh ! The Cease fires failed in the past, maybe this administration learns from past mistakes.

No, Condi's belatedly stopping by "to build support for the effective crippling of Hezbollah." An ambitious goal, but shouldn't an end to the violence come first?

How can you cripple and defeat the enemy with a cease fire ? I thought you defeated your enemy by winning a war ! (See history of WWI and WWII.)

See rest of the nonsense

The Libs hate when the military meets its quota

They knock a 'my space' website that the marines have.

Group: U.S. military urged abuse in Iraq

NEW YORK - The group Human Rights Watch said in a report released Sunday that U.S. military commanders encouraged abusive interrogations of detainees in Iraq.

story...

Maybe Human rights watch should concentrate on stories like this.....

Assailants slit the throats of a mother and her three children in southern Iraq

Where the family had fled to escape threats that they had cooperated with the Americans.

The mother's sister was also slain in the savage attack, which occurred Wednesday in an apartment in the southern city of Basra, police said. Five other family members were rescued before they bled to death.

Officials said the family had fled Baghdad for Basra after receiving threats because they had cooperated with U.S. forces. The officials gave no further details and spoke on condition of anonymity because they feared reprisals by sectarian militias that have infiltrated Basra's police.

Democrat's plan for the end of the war

My Opinion

Moment of Truth -

This is so obvious, can't understand why the rest of the world (liberals) doesn't see it this way.
Taken from Front Page Magazine
-----------------
Americans need to take a hard look at what is going on in the Middle East, because it provides the clearest picture possible of the war we are in. On one side are al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hizbollah, Syria and Iran and their allies: Russia, France, Greece, and the UN majority. On the other is the only democracy in the land of Muslim and Arab terror. The origins of this front in the war on terror are crystal clear: the desire of the Muslim terrorists -- the elected majority among Palestinian Arabs and the occupying Shi'ite army in Lebanon, backed by Syria and Iran -- to destroy Israel and push the Jews into the sea.

The war reveals the impossibility of a Palestinian state and the necessity of a civilized occupying force in a region that is populated by a people who have been terminally brainwashed into an ideology of hate, which makes their self-government a crime waiting to happen.

There were 10,000 Jews living in Gaza until recently. They were so creative that while representing less than one percent of the population they accounted for 10% of the entire gross national product of the country. Productive and law-abiding as they were, their existence in Gaza required a Israeli army presence to protect them. So uncontrollable is the genocidal hatred of Palestinians for Jews (more than a million Palestinians on the other hand live peacefully in Israel enjoying more rights than any Arabs or Muslims living in their own countries). The Israeli army in Gaza was also necessary to prevent genocidal Palestinians Jew-haters from lobbing rockets into Israeli schoolyards.

Putin says Israels "use of force should be balanced"

Balanced? In a War ? What does that mean, and how in the hell can you win if you're forced to be "balanced" ?

Mr Bush said that in order to bring the conflict to an end it was important to understand why it had started in the first place, "and that's because Hezbollah has been launching rocket attacks out of Lebanon into Israel and because Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers".

Mr Bush also called on Syria to put pressure on Hezbollah to end the violence.

Syria has said it will support Hezbollah and Lebanon against Israel's attacks.

Mr Putin was more critical of Israel's massive bombing campaign, saying that the "use of force should be balanced", But he added that it was unacceptable that Hezbollah was trying to reach its goals with abductions and strikes against an independent state.

ACLU Doesn’t Want English Signs

The American Civil Liberties Union has asked officials in a Detroit suburb to reject a proposal that would require businesses with foreign language signs to add English translations.

Dick Durbin - Bring the Terrorists Home

Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) formerly claimed U.S. soldiers at Guantanamo Bay were comparable to "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others — that had no concern for human beings."
xxx
However now Mr. Durbin, upon a visit to the prison, feels that detainees are being treated humanely and in accordance with U.S. and international law, but the symbolism of the prison as a center of "heavy-handed" U.S. treatment of captives outweighs its value as a detention facility.
xxx
Forget detention and security, to Durbin it's all about symbolism and how the world views the United States, not terrorists. The detainees have not only killed U.S. soldiers but have killed thousands of innocent civilians around the world.
xxx
At least a dozen detainees that have been released returned to the battle field to kill again. Many have home countries who won't accept them because they are a threat to society.
xxx
Durbin has provided a solution. Move the detainees to the Continental U.S. and close down Guantanamo Bay. Why? Because the prison has become a "negative symbol." Although it has been given a clean bill of health, including on the matter of torture, Durbin enjoys claiming torture still exists. Durbin finds Guantanamo Bay, "bleak and barren and hotter than the hinges of hell." Did the Senator expect to find swimming pools and shuffle board?

AND wasn't Turbin Durbin part of the problem giving the world a "negative symbol" to Guantanamo Bay ??

World Cup

Congratulations to the Italian people for winning the World Cup. They won after France's best player got ejected for head-butting. That's the closest anyone in a French uniform has come to combat in 60 years.

Do these idiots have blinders on?

Prisons at Center of Damning Report on U.S. Human Rights

UNITED NATIONS, Jul 11 (OneWorld) - Rights advocacy groups in the United States are calling for the United Nations to take note of the gross human rights violations being committed in their country.

"It's time for the United States to own up to its responsibility and acknowledge its patterns of human rights violations," says Tonya McClary of the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), a Quaker human rights group, which is part of the coalition that prepared the report for the UN.

The memorial for Flight 93 still shaped like Islamic crecent

Can you believe this ??

The memorial for Flight 93 was intially designed shaped as an Islamic crecent that pointed directly to Mecca. Outrage over this chosen design to commemorate the lives lost in a Pennsylvania field in one giant act of bravery forced a re-think of the design. In late November 2005, it was announced a new design would be made for the memorial.

Today we learn that the new design is essentially the very same design but instead called the “Bowl of Embrace” as opposed to the previous name, the “Crescent of Embrace.” The objectionary crescent and it’s position relative to the perceived target of the strike, Washington D.C., and Mecca still exists.

Even more disgusting than the design and the exact position is that the there are to be glass blocks commemorating everyone on board including the four hijackers. Yes, the design will commemorate the hijackers. What kind of asinine crap is that?

Dick 'Turban' Durbin Cares More For Bugs Than Soldiers

Here's part of the story From the conservative voice....

My son went away to Iraq with the Illinois National Guard, last week. I, the proud papa of one of our brave men in uniform, stood in the bleachers at the General Richard L. Jones Armory in downtown Chicago on the morning of July 3rd watching as the boys of the 178th Infantry battalion (MPs) presented themselves to their relatives and Chicago's media for the last time before they leave for duty in Iraq.

Republican candidate for governor, Judy Barr Topinka, was present and stayed for a while shaking hands and wishing the soldiers well. Every single TV news outlet attended to interview the boys for a segment on their nightly newscasts.

And where was Dick "Turban" Durbin when the boys from Chicago were preparing to leave for Iraq?

Talking about bugs.

No, not the NSA, CIA, surveillance kind, I mean real bugs. Dick was touring nearby Kane county, Illinois looking for the emerald ash borer beetle that he is trying to get Federal funds to combat.

Ralph Peters - KILL, DON'T CAPTURE

HOW TO SOLVE OUR PRISONER PROBLEM

Excellent article by Ralph Peters

Consider today's norm: A terrorist in civilian clothes can explode an IED, killing and maiming American troops or innocent civilians, then demand humane treatment if captured - and the media will step in as his champion. A disguised insurgent can shoot his rockets, throw his grenades, empty his magazines, kill and wound our troops, then, out of ammo, raise his hands and demand three hots and a cot while he invents tales of abuse.

This is why the terrorists are never criticized for the way they treat their prisoners

It's because they kill the prisoners within a month of capture, or better yet for them, they kill people right on the spot. Why have to deal with prisoners. Here's an example.....

The hard-line Muslim fighters, who have banned watching television, opened fire after a crowd of teenagers defied their orders to leave a hall where a businessman was showing Tuesday's Germany-Italy match on satellite television, according to Shabelle Radio, an independent local station. It said the businessman and a teenage girl were killed.

Hard-line Muslim fighters, who wrested control of the Somali capital from warlords in June, have forbidden people from watching television or movies in line with their strict interpretation of Islam. (where is the International Red Cross?), or are they afraid to criticize them for fear of their life?

Why Doesn't Hillary know the difference between Legal and illegal immigration

She says...... Speaking at a rally of Irish immigrants, Clinton criticized a bill the House passed in December that would impose harsher penalties for undocumented workers.

"Don't turn your backs on what made this country great," she said, calling the measure "a rebuke to what America stands for."

The House measure would make unlawful presence in the United States, which is currently a civil offense, a felony
--------------------------------------------------------

What made this country great was immigration... LEGAL immigration. Why can't they understand the difference.

Apparently, Superman is not an American anymore.

Superman must not be American anymore. He now says Truth, Justice and ALL THAT STUFF.

He used to say Truth, Justice, and the American way. He must now be ashamed to be an American. There's one more movie that I'm NOT going to see.

Flag burning ban fails to pass in the Senate by 1 vote

Why is it that you're not allowed to burn leaves, but you can burn the symbol of our country that many have given their lives to defend? I guess I'm just not smart enough to understand.

Here's the link that shows how the Senators voted....

Roll Call

House Supports Bilingual Ballots in 31 States

I agree with Cliff Stearns R-Fla.

"If you have the good fortune to be able to vote in the United States, then it is not too much to ask that this be accomplished in English," "I don't think the United States government should be forced to pay for (bilingual) assistance."

Immigration laws, read through the end

Heard this on Rush's show today, and thought it was great !

Everybody's making immigration proposals these days. Let me add mine to the mix. Call it The Limbaugh Laws:

First: If you immigrate to our country, you have to speak the native language. You have to be a professional or an investor; no unskilled workers allowed. Also, there will be no special bilingual programs in the schools with the Limbaugh Laws. No special ballots for elections. No government business will be conducted in your language. Foreigners will not have the right to vote — or hold political office.

If you’re in our country, you cannot be a burden to taxpayers. You are not entitled to welfare, food stamps, or other government goodies. You can come if you invest here: an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage. If not, stay home. But if you want to buy land, it'll be restricted. No waterfront, for instance. As a foreigner, you must relinquish individual rights to the property.

And another thing. You don’t have the right to protest. You're allowed no demonstrations, no foreign flag waving, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our President or his policies. You’re a foreigner: shut your mouth or get out! And if you come here illegally, you're going to jail.

You think the Limbaugh Laws are harsh? Well, every one of the laws I just mentioned are actual laws of Mexico today! That’s how the Mexican government handles immigrants to their country. Yet Mexicans come here illegally and protest in our streets! How do you say “double standard” in Spanish? How about:

ACLU: Iraq Prison Photos to Be Released

Shouldn't the ALCU be more concerned about our hero's instead of worried about how a few 'tormented' the terrorists. These same terrorists would slit every one of our throats, (including the ACLU) if given the chance.

Here's the story....

The federal government has agreed to release disputed pictures showing American soldiers tormenting Iraqi detainees at Abu Ghraib prison, the American Civil Liberties Union said Tuesday.

Erica Pelletreau, a spokeswoman for the ACLU, said the pictures would be released within a week if a federal judge approves the deal.

Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein had ordered the release of the pictures from the infamous Baghdad prison over complaints by government lawyers, who complained that doing so would incite violence against U.S. troops in Iraq and provoke terrorists.

Does the ACLU realize that these nuts would kill over a frickin cartoon, and they still want to beat a dead horse over pictures ? Just asking.

What would happen if the terrorists were to attack us again

It's called "Doomsday for Islam"

Despite grandiose plans for such an attack on the United States, bin Laden has again failed to understand the nature of the American spirit and the likely vengeance such an attack would unleash from American military strategic nuclear forces. Since the United States entered the era of nuclear weapons technology many decades ago, it has always had detailed contingency plans on how the country would respond in a nuclear crisis.
