San Fran Man Injures 15 with his vehicle

Good article by Uncommon insight. Some news articles don't even mention the guys name.

A California man went on a rampage yesterday in his vehicle, intentionally running over pedestrians. Take note of a peculiar media bias as you read about this case. Every single story about the incident will mention that Omeed Aziz Popal's vehicle was an SUV. Most will even mention the color of the vehicle, black, and the model, a Honda Pilot. I'm sure in journalism school the MSM learned to think of these as essential details.

Wouldn't it be pertinent to mention that Omeed Aziz Popal was "male, Muslim, aged 17 to 35" and recently traveled to Afganistan. Wouldn't these details be at least as important as the make, model and color of the weapon the perpretrator used? Americans have a hard to fathoming the fact that radical Islam preaches hate toward us. They hate us. We don't hate them. They wish us harm. We don't often think about them at all.

Here's a letter I'd like to see

Dear Concerned Citizen:

Thank you for your recent letter criticizing our treatment of the Taliban and Al Qaeda detainees currently held at Guantanamo Bay Cuba.

The administration takes these matters seriously, and your opinion was heard loud and clear here in Washington.

You'll be pleased to learn that thanks to the concerns of citizens like you, we are creating the Terrorist Retraining Program, to be called the "Liberals Accept Responsibility for Killers" program, or LARK for short.

In accordance with the guidelines of this new program, we have decided to place one terrorist under your personal care.

Your detainee has been selected and scheduled for transportation to your residence next Monday. Ali Mohammed Ahmed bin Mahmud is to be cared for pursuant to the standards you personally demanded in your letter of admonishment. We will conduct weekly inspections to ensure that your standards of care for Ahmed are commensurate with those you so strongly recommended in your letter.

Although Ahmed is sociopathic and extremely violent, we hope that your sensitivity to what you described as his "attitudinal problem" will help him overcome this character flaw. Perhaps you are correct in describing these problems as "mere cultural differences."

Your adopted terrorist is extremely proficient in hand-to-hand combat and can extinguish human life with such simple items as a pencil or nail clippers. He is also expert at making a wide variety of explosive devices from common household products, so you may wish to keep those items locked up, unless you feel that this might offend him.

Ahmed will not wish to interact with your wife or daughters since he views females as a subhuman form of property. This is a particularly sensitive subject for him. He has been known to show violent tendencies around women who fail to comply with the dress code that he considers appropriate, but I'm sure that over time they will come to enjoy the anonymity offered by the bhurka. Just remind them that it is all part of respecting his culture and his religious beliefs.

Thanks again for your letter. We truly appreciate it when folks like you inform us of the proper way to do our job. Take good care of Ahmed and good luck!

Cordially,

The Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld
Secretary of Defense

Tool or Fool?

From the DANEgerus Weblog, couldn't agree more....

Annan criticises Beirut offensive
Annan called Israel's air and sea blockade of Lebanon a "humiliation" and demanded it be lifted. I guess he brought the HisBully script with him... That would be the "blockade" required to prevent the HisBullies from replacing weapons they shouldn't have had if UN resolution 1559 meant anything. HisBully terrorists Kofi took the time to insist the new UNIFIL force would not disarm demonstrating that the new UN resolution is as pointless as 1559. I also noticed the HisBullies didn't take the bobblehead doll to see any of the HisBully fortifications constructed within yards of UN peacekeepers to shoot rockets at civilians in Israel. Kofi Annan... a Tool and a Fool. Who is writing the checks for him now?

Will the West defend itself?

Good article By Walter E. Williams.

Does the United States have the power to eliminate terrorists and the states that support them? In terms of capacity, as opposed to will, the answer is a clear yes.

Think about it. Currently, the U.S. has an arsenal of 18 Ohio class submarines. Just one submarine is loaded with 24 Trident nuclear missiles. Each Trident missile has eight nuclear warheads capable of being independently targeted. That means the U.S. alone has the capacity to wipe out Iran, Syria or any other state that supports terrorist groups or engages in terrorism -- without risking the life of a single soldier.

---------------------------------------------

After the battle of Midway, and the long string of Japanese defeats in the Pacific, including Guam, Okinawa and the Philippines, had today's Americans been around, they'd be willing to negotiate with Japan for peace, pointing to the additional loss of lives if we continued the war. More than likely they would have made the same argument in 1945, when German defeat was imminent. Of course, had there been a peace agreement with Japan and Germany, all it would have achieved would have been to give them time to recoup their losses and resume their aggression at a later time, possibly equipped with nuclear weapons.

We might also note that the occupation of Germany and Japan didn't pose the occupation problems we face in Iraq. The reason is we completely demoralized our enemies, leaving them with neither the will nor the means to resist.

Our adversaries in the Middle East have advantages that the axis powers didn't have -- the Western press and public opinion. We've seen widespread condemnation of alleged atrocities and prisoner mistreatment by the U.S., but how much media condemnation have you seen of beheadings and other gross atrocities by Islamists?

Terrorists must be pleased by statements of some members of Congress, such as those by Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., who recently said, "I don't take sides for or against Hezbollah." Hezbollah, backed by Iran, is responsible for the 1983 bombing of Beirut barracks killing 241 U.S. service members.

2996 - Tribute to 9/11 Victims

I know many of you already know about the 2996 project, but it’s time to do a reminder.

2996 is a project organized by D.C. Roe, to have 2996 bloggers (!) all posting a tribute to a 9/11 victim (names are assigned) on September 11, 2006–the five-year anniversary. Right now there are 1520 blogs signed up, and there’s just over a month to go. I have Police Officer Ramon Suarez NYPD, age 45.
