Chicago Tribune asks - Is our `way of life' really worth defending?

This explains why the war on terror isn't important to them.

They seemed teed off that Bush is asking us to live normal lives and go on as we were (in other words, our way of life), and hasn't asked us to make sacrifices. It seems only the sons of poor people are risking their lives in Iraq. If you know me, I have 2 sons in the military, one of which has served there. I quote...

Bush said. "Do your business around the country. Fly and enjoy America's great destination spots. Go down to Disney World in Florida, take your families and enjoy life the way we want it to be enjoyed. (would he rather we live in a cave - which is what would happen if the dems had to protect us)

He continues..... "No one has a problem with enjoying special treats with the family. But the invasion and occupation of Iraq is headed toward its third anniversary. To this day, Bush has not called for a national sacrifice to match the courage of the soldiers dying in Iraq. Not even giving up our plasma TV screens and our video games. He says our soldiers are protecting our way of life. We have yet to question whether it is a way of life worth living.

Nancy Pelosi (little miss windsock) signed off on President Bush's decision to conduct "unspecified activities" to gather intelligence

Do ya think she didn't say anything about it then because it might be unpopular??

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi confessed late Saturday that she signed off on President Bush's decision to have a top intelligence agency conduct "unspecified activities" to gather intelligence on possible terrorists operating inside the U.S. in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

"I was advised of President Bush's decision to provide authority to the National Security Agency to conduct unspecified activities shortly after he made it and have been provided with updates on several occasions," Pelosi admitted.

The San Francisco Democrat claimed she expressed "strong concerns" about the "unspecified activities" at the time, but offered no evidence to that effect.

Pelosi declined to explain why she didn't make public her concerns about the authorization, which Democrats now say was an outrageous abuse of civil rights.

Two 49er fans object to 'pat downs' before entering stadium so ACLU {does that mean Absolutely Confused Lunatics Union} sues to stop searches

Here we go again, The terrorists must LOVE these guys!

SAN FRANCISCO - NFL's pat-down policy challenged by TWO 49ers season-ticket holders, ACLU sue to stop searches.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California filed the suit Thursday in San Francisco Superior Court on behalf of Dan Sheehan, a season-ticket holder for almost 40 years, and his wife, Kathleen, alleging that the team's policy violates the couple's right to privacy under the state Constitution.

The National Football League, citing post-Sept. 11 terrorism concerns, issued a directive before the start of the season for its 32 teams to conduct mandatory searches of fans before they enter stadiums.

ACLU hypocritical in prohibiting ‘Christmas’

When Americans in many parts of the world are kidnapped, persecuted and murdered just for being Christian, it is difficult to understand why a small group of detractors is creating an atmosphere of hate here at home. This small but vocal group is known as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). This union, which practices un-American and anti-Christian confrontation, should not be allowed to masquerade as the United States Supreme Court.

It is ironic that Christians are still regarded as the silent majority in spite of having 79.8 percent of Americans identifying themselves as Christian. However, they are not about to surrender their birthright to a small group of shysters.

It is hypocritical for the ACLU to want to prohibit the use of the name “Christmas” when public schools close for five days for the religious observances of Passover, Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Nevertheless, Christians will continue to uphold their beliefs.

The ACLU is out of step with the American people, and its attempt to defame an entire religion is reprehensible. And the majority of Americans are outraged.

Christmas is not just about making money. It is about singing old familiar carols, trimming the Christmas tree and exchanging presents with loved ones. And regardless of geographic location, it is the recognition of the greatest of holy days — the birth of Jesus Christ.

Tookies Victims

Every once in a while when my blood pressure is kinda low, I listen to Air(head) America. The callers were saying that if we televised the execution of criminals on death row, the public would be so 'outraged' at seeing how cruel it is, we would abolish it in no time. Of course I can see how being injected with a shot to put you to sleep is more cruel than being shot in the face with a shotgun. So for all the Libs who really believe that, here are the pictures on Michael Savages site.....

Victims

Liberal logic

If we take Liberal logic, which of course is the ultimate oxymoron, and apply it to everything in life, we will get some rather odd results!

Liberal logic says if we had fewer guns, we would also have fewer crimes.

Therefore, from this we must conclude Liberal logic also dictates the following.

Fewer eating utensils would soon lead to less obesity. Fewer restaurants would also lead to less obesity, as would fewer cattle. After all cows give milk, and milk can be fattening. Cattle also give us beef, which can also make us fat.

So we can conclude, using Liberal logic, that if we had no cows, no restaurants and no utensils, obesity would be quickly eradicated.

Fewer pens and pencils would lead to fewer grammatical errors such as misspellings. Fewer pens and pencils would also lead to fewer notes in class, thus leading to fewer kids getting in trouble for passing notes in class.

Also without pens and pencils, students could not write nasty things about classmates could they. So we must eliminate these tools of intolerance.

Paper too, should be tightly controlled. Without paper, even students with pens or pencils would be unable to write bad things or use poor grammar while writing.

So using Liberal logic, which says more gun control and laws will lessen violent crime, we must also confess that having tight controls on pen, pencil, and paper would curtail poor grammar and hateful writing.

We are off to a great start in using Liberal logic to cure the societal ills of America. Where else can we look to offer even more improvements in our not-nearly liberal enough nation?

Let us see. Businesses are always looking for ways to improve things like profit aren't they? Well let us help them by applying some Liberal logic to their goals shall we?

Liberal logic dictates that competition is bad. Therefore, if we use this left-leaning logic and apply it to businesses we soon determine that businesses must stop pushing their employees to be better and more productive. After all, businesses are pushing competition when they ask more of their employees.

Liberal logic has already told us how negatively competition effects self-esteem. So why would businesses wish to cast harm upon their workers self-esteem? If children's games like dodge ball or tag are negative for children then surely budgets or profits must be really bad for employees of private businesses! My God where are our priorities people?

They should eliminate competition from their strategies immediately! They should stop worrying about silly, non-important details like profit. They should instead focus on implementing Liberal logic. Then they would only care about the feelings of their employees. Who cares if they succeed as a business? Their employers will never suffer from a bruised ego. THAT is what truly matters, Liberal logic tells us so.

Just remember being unemployed with a positive self-image is far more desirable than being gainfully employed but being pressured to do your best. Who needs that capitalistic pressure?

OK we are rolling now! Let us now move to dangerous lifestyles and what liberal logic teaches us about them.

Liberal logic tells us that teaching teens how to have safe sex is better than teaching them not to have sex until they are mentally and emotionally capable of handling the awesome responsibility, which can come from engaging in sex. So let us apply this logic to other dangerous activities and lifestyle choices.

Let us start with drug abuse. Liberal logic dictates we teach people how to do drugs safely! Like teenagers and sex, Liberal logic tells us they are going to do it anyway. So teach them how to do drugs safely!

Think how much safer our country will be when all of us know how to properly snort and smoke cocaine! We know from studying Liberal logic that giving drug addicts clean needles will reduce the spread of AIDS among intravenous drug users so we should go one step further and give everyone clean needles shouldn't we?

How about addictive behaviors like promiscuous sex? Liberal logic dictates that we teach everyone safe sex! Do not tell anyone certain behaviors are dangerous or goodness forbid, immoral! Taking this approach might lead to lowered self-esteem, and we can never afford that tragedy!

No, no my friends we must learn the great lessons of Liberal logic. Words like accountability, responsibility, and consequences must be stricken immediately from our vernacular! Such words give rise to the belief that there are moral absolutes! We can never entertain such intolerance and judgementalism.

Instead let us entertain sensitivity instead! There ought to be no right, no wrong, no good, no bad. There should jus be choices, none of which are wrong, unless of course your choice involves religion or moral absolutes. Those are so intolerant!

So remember what is truly important. Feelings are the important thing in life. Not results, not improvement, or success, or doing your best or subscribing to some right-wing moral code, no none of that matters, feelings matter!

Now if you take a look at the absurd lengths to which Liberal logic can be taken, you might then consider how devoid of any intellectual worth Liberalism is. The preceding column was absurd and sarcastic, but what better way to expose

Liberal logic for the absolute fraud it is?Liberal logic will never, and can never succeed in the real world. If we follow it we will not improve, we will only fail miserably and be miserable as we are failing.

Can someone explain to me why is it that the majority of liberals fought to see Terri Schiavo die, and then fought to see that Tookie Williams live?

I just can't understand their logic.

Worth repeating...... IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America.

Our population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. Weadopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle.

Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But, once you are through complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

Theodore Roosevelt on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

Where did we go wrong?

Theodore Roosevelt on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes
here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he
shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an
outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or
birthplace, or origin. But. this is predicated upon the man's becoming
in very fact an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no
divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but
something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one
flag, the American flag ... and this excludes the red flag, which
symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it
excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile. We have
room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And
we have room for but one sole loyalty, and that is a loyalty to the
American people."

Alcoholic Kindergarten Teacher Stretches Naptime To Three Hours

No such luck for me.... the nuns never drank the wine.

Following a tiring weekend, kindergarten teacher and self-described "party girl" Jeanie Rigby, 29, extended the naptime at Irving KinderKare to three hours Monday. "Let's get those nap pads out, kids," Rigby said in what her students described as "an extra-hushy indoor voice." "Quiet time now, so you get your rest and Ms. Rigby gets her juice." Kindergarteners who only pretended to sleep later said they were pretty sure that Rigby was not faking her own nap.

Al Qaeda gives an early Christmas present for the Democrat National Committee

Another Rush comment....

Osama bin Laden’s deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, appears in a new video first released on al Jazeera, the terrorists’ favorite network. The No. 2 terrorist says: “Iraq is a catastrophe for America, and Americans will leave; it will only be a matter of time.” It’s an early Christmas present for the Democrat National Committee headquarters. Big Cheese terrorist Al-Zawahri is in complete agreement with Howard Dean who just days ago predicted that our military can’t win in Iraq. In his pre-Christmas video, Zawahri continues: “I say to Bush: you entered Iraq with lies, you will lose Iraq and lie about it, and you will leave with the pretext that you have completed your mission. America only has to decide on the number of [troops] it wishes to lose before withdrawing.” What a bonus! That’s straight out of the Democrat Party handbook. Zawahri also echoes John Murtha’s and Nancy Pelosi’s claims that we’ve made no progress in Iraq. He even says we’re stealing the oil from the Iraqi people, the favorite talking point of the Michael-Moore/Mother-Sheehan-kook-fringe-liberal-Democrat crowd. And there’s something in the terrorist goodie bag for hardcore kook fringe antiwar environmental wackos, too. According to a new book, Osama himself — the CEO of Big Terrorism — says he wants America to sign the Kyoto global warming accord.

Folks, it's Christmas on December 8th for the Democrats. Apparently liberal Democrats have found their political soul mates in al Qaeda terrorists Zawahri and bin Laden. Politics do make for strange bedfellows — they may be deadly — but still.

4. The definition of sin will now include not recycling, smoking, non-diversity and wearing fur.

New York Post hits the nail on the head about Dean....

From their online edition....

December 7, 2005 -- Howard Dean sounded like a big French surrender monkey when he said America can't win the war in Iraq.

So The Post raced into action yesterday to show the Democratic Party chairman what he can do with his yellow-bellied sentiments.

We put together a heartfelt care package containing everything Dean needs to transform into a full-fledged weasel and we delivered it care of the state Democratic Party's headquarters on Madison Avenue, where the package was accepted.

Heartfelt care package contents:

WHITE FLAG - the real national symbol of France
BERET - to look stylish in the land of weasels
TICKET TO PARIS - City of Cowards, here he comes!
JANE FONDA BIO - His primer on how to be a traitor
'AXIS OF WEASELS' SHIRT - it says, “Yes, I'm yellow!”

Lies to weakness

This is a transcript of something Rush said on his show yesterday, it's worth repeating....

On Sunday's Face the Nation John Kerry said this: “There's no reason Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children..."

That's not the first time Kerry has accused our military of terrorist activities; his rise to national prominence came after his 1971 Congressional testimony, charging that our troops in Vietnam committed heinous atrocities on a daily basis — unfounded allegations about deeds Kerry never witnessed. In a recent speech, Kerry characterized that Vietnam testimony as “speaking truth to power.”

This week, at Saddam Hussein’s trial, witnesses (who really were there) spoke of the torture they experienced in his prisons. Sexual violence. Newborns left to die. Unspeakable acts visited upon entire families. The truth spoken by Saddam’s terror victims provoked no outrage from John Kerry or Howard Dean — who claims we are losing the war; or from John Murtha — who claims our army is broken; or from Hillary Clinton — full of doubletalk on the war. In fact, elected Democrats and their kook-fringe base insist our troops are causing terrorism. Joe Lieberman, the rare exception, is routinely impugned by Democrats.

We are winning in Iraq — despite difficult circumstances and loss of American life. Preparations for free elections are taking place. The region, and the world, will benefit. This is truth and power. Kerry and his band of quislings who insist our military is the problem don’t speak truth to power; they speak lies to weakness, and there’s nothing patriotic about one word they're saying.

German man sues CIA over torture

As reported on the Al Jeezera website, a lawsuit was filed in a U.S. federal court by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on behalf of a German citizen - Khaled el-Masri. (HUH ??)

Masri, 42, a Lebanese-born German citizen, says he was kidnapped in Macedonia in 2003, drugged, beaten and then flown to Afghanistan, where he was subjected to "coercive" interrogation under inhumane conditions.

Here is a statement from the ACLU website...... The ACLU continues to pursue the release of information about detainee torture and abuse at U.S. detention centers. The truth must be aired and our leaders held accountable. Masri is now seeking damages of at least $75,000 and an apology. more.....

Just like democrats, the're trying to play both sides. They have a Nativity but no Mary, Joseph, Jesus, or wise men.

Hillary speaks about her thoughts on Iraqi time tables.

Here's one of her quotes from a speech given in Louisville Ky., that makes her timetable issue perfectly clear (I'm sure that Bill knows all about her rejection)......

"The time has come for the administration to stop serving up platitudes and present a plan for finishing this war with success and honor," she said. "I reject a rigid timetable that the terrorists can exploit, and I reject an open timetable that has no ending attached to it.

"Instead, I think we need a plan for winning and concluding this war, and the president can begin by taking responsibilities for the false assurances, faulty evidence and mismanagement of this war." ---- Huh ?? As Rush would say - "Victory is victory, and it's not determined by a timetable. World War II did not go by as quickly as you think".

Also, as noted in the NY Post - The president quoted Lieberman in his Wednesday "victory strategy" address at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Meanwhile, Sen. Clinton — seeing polls showing the American public appearing to turn against the Iraq War — heads off in the other direction.
In its own way, this capitulation is as foolish as the anti-war Left's "Withdraw now!" strategy. Will they really believe Hillary's sudden change of heart?
Sen. Clinton may learn, to her dismay, that a similar rule applies in war and in politics: Americans will follow and continue to support individuals of principle — even if they disagree with a specific decision or strategy.
However, finger-in-the-wind waverers who buckle at the first sign of adversity rarely find favor in any camp.
In the end, of course, that's between Clinton and her political advisers.
Meanwhile, Americans who care truly about winning the War on Terror have cause to be disappointed in the junior senator from New York.

Here's everything she said.

One suggestion to ease the deficit

After hearing the story about Tookie again on the tube it occured to me that it must be pretty expensive for the tax payers to keep these guys alive who have been sentenced to fry. I heard in California, they sit there and get fed, and take up room in our prisons for up to 20 years .

I did a little research, and found that the number of people waiting to become room temparture as of 2000 (latest I could find), was 3,652. The annual cost of keeping these slimeballs alive was $22,447, (61.58/day in 2002) or $81,976,444.00 not including any other bills that we foot for them (lawyers etc.)

Now why is it that the libs and all the hollywood people are all for keeping these guys alive, and yet always want to raise our taxes. Seems like an ideal solution would be to have a chair with a heavy duty cord sitting right in the next room of the courthouse, possibly under the ten commandments, to carry out the sentense and save us all some money and free up some space in our prisons. I think I'll write Teddy and Kerry to see what they think..... wait, I forgot, Massachusetts doesn't believe in Capital Punishment. Oh well, I guess they believe in feeding and clothing the killers instead of the homeless.

Washington, December 1 (RHC)-- The U.S. military is secretly paying Iraqi newspapers to publish stories written by occupation troops as part of a propaganda campaign in the occupied Arab country.

Let us never forget

This is why we are fighting the war on terror !!

Sorry to get on my soapbox, but with me having 2 sons in the military and not wanting to see another vietnam situation where the military was spat apon when they returend, I thought I'd pass this along......If you can watch this entire slideshow and still worry about the 'detainee's' rights and what methods we use to get information that will save lives of Americans (both in the military and at home), then you'd better examine your concience. This is a war on TERROR (much like the war on crime). It has no boundries, the enemy adhears to no rules. If we are to win, please be on the side of good, and not evil. Thank you.
