LA Times wants to know - Was 9/11 really that bad?

The attacks were a horrible act of mass murder, but history says we're overreacting.
By David A. BellJanuary 28, 2007

IMAGINE THAT on 9/11, six hours after the assault on the twin towers and the Pentagon, terrorists had carried out a second wave of attacks on the United States, taking an additional 3,000 lives. Imagine that six hours after that, there had been yet another wave. Now imagine that the attacks had continued, every six hours, for another four years, until nearly 20 million Americans were dead. This is roughly what the Soviet Union suffered during World War II, and contemplating these numbers may help put in perspective what the United States has so far experienced during the war against terrorism.

Warning to the democrats

If you continue to always try to stop us from fighting the terrorists and keep protecting thier rights while condeming our brave troops, and pull out our troops allowing Iraq to be a haven for terrorists, and continue to be in denial that we are in danger, and get elected in the 08 election.... You'd better hope that we are not attacked (Take a lesson from '24').

If that happens.... you will NEVER be elected again !

Will Saudis Ban the Letter ‘X'?
By YOUSSEF IBRAHIM

The letter "X" soon may be banned in Saudi Arabia because it resembles the mother of all banned religious symbols in the oil kingdom: the cross.

The new development came with the issuing of another mind-bending fatwa, or religious edict, by the infamous Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice — the group of senior Islamic clergy that reigns supreme on all legal, civil, and governance matters in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The commission's damning of the letter "X" came in response to a Ministry of Trade query about whether it should grant trademark protection to a Saudi businessman for a new service carrying the English name "Explorer."

"No! Nein! Nyet!" was the commission's categorical answer.

Speech scrapped over ban on women

SPAIN'S justice minister refused to deliver a lecture at a university in Saudi Arabia today after authorities banned visiting female journalists from attending.

The Spanish reporters were prevented from entering Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University despite the fact they were all wearing the traditional black abaya and veil, according to one of the correspondents from SER radio, Esther Bazan.

Justice Minister Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar decided to cancel his lecture on the globalisation of terrorism at the institution - the academic heart of Saudi Arabia's hardline Wahhabi Islam.

Saudi authorities said the university was an all-male institution and women were not allowed, but the Spanish delegation and reporters travelling with them were not informed about the ban until last night.

If you are patriotic, stay out of San Francisco

How's this for an only-in-San Francisco story:

Members of the Baker's Dozen, the renowned, all-male a cappella singing group from Yale, are pummeled outside a New Year's Eve party after singing "The Star-Spangled Banner."

The attackers allegedly include graduates from Sacred Heart Cathedral, one of the city's oldest and best-known private schools.

The attack happens outside.

Anti American - wonder if these people were dems. Hmmmmmm

story...

Just a thought

You cannot win a war if you pull out your troops, You therefore give victory to your enemy. What about this do the Libs not understand?

Also a thought... If ALL the terrorists were able to vote, which party do you think they'd vote for?

Hmmm - I'll bet it's not Republican !

Hey Germany - surprise surprise, The Muslims Are Coming!

A citizens' group in Berlin turned out this week for a candlelight vigil to protest plans for a new mosque in their neighborhood. It will be the first to be built in the former East Berlin, where almost no Muslims live -- but no one can quite explain why it shouldn't be there.

Maybe Europe should wake up soon, before it's too late. We're getting tired of saving their ass because of their bad judgement.

Sandy Berger lucky to be a dem

If he were a republican, he'd be behind bars.

Washington, D.C. – Oversight and Government Reform Committee Ranking Member Tom Davis (R-VA) released the following statement today on a committee report that sheds important new light on Sandy Berger’s theft of classified documents from the National Archives. The report makes it clear that the full extent of Mr. Berger’s document removal can never be known, and consequently the Department of Justice could not assure the 9/11 Commission that it received all responsive documents to which Mr. Berger had access.

“My staff’s investigation reveals that President Clinton’s former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger compromised national security much more than originally disclosed,” Davis said. “It is now also clear that Mr. Berger was willing to go to extraordinary lengths to compromise national security, apparently for his own convenience.

Somalia - A lesson for the terrorists

We will NEVER forget.

We will hunt you down

And we will kill you

(unless the Dems stop the funding)

Ted Kennedy - what an IDIOT !!

A lot of you people don't remember this because of your age, but Teddy (the swimmer) has some blood on his hands. Besides killing Mary Jo Kopechne, he was one of the main CLOWNS responsible for not helping South Vietnam defend itself by cutting off funding - Just like today.... Here is the story

The withdrawal of American troops from Vietnam also strengthened the hand of the communist Khmer Rouge in neighboring Cambodia. Their leader, Pol Pot, embarked on a bloody ethnic cleansing campaign. While the exact number of Cambodians slaughtered can never be fully known, most estimate those killed from a low of 1 million to a high of 3 million.
A million or so "boat people" fled Vietnam in flimsy watercraft on the South China Sea. Thousands of Vietnamese died in "re-education camps."

America lost the Vietnam War, not on the battlefield, but on the home front of public support. Anti-war activists and the liberal media helped turn public opinion sharply against the war. Although our soldiers won every major battle in the field, public opinion turned against a war increasingly perceived as "unwinnable." Our withdrawal, however, gave the Vietnamese armies under Ho Chi Minh free rein to overrun South Vietnam – raping, pillaging, plundering, impoverishing, imprisoning, torturing and slaughtering hundreds of thousands of people.

Looks like the drunk wants to match the number of people murdered to Saddam's total.

What an Idiot - He should swing just like Saddam.

Here's the difference between heroes and cowards

My family is conservative, I have 2 sons in the military. We want to win the f*cking war, so let us do what we have to do !

Now take a liberal family that has sons in the military.... They want us to pull out and lose the war.

Which group would our Vets stand for ? I KNOW, because my dad and his friends were WWII vets and all heroes - they would tell me that they fought so my generation could live in freedom, we owned a bar and I talked to them a lot.....they would say.... DEFEAT the enemy!!! We are Americans who love our freedom at any cost !

These Dems are COWARDS, and could not stand face to face with the people that I knew.

Here's what I don't understand....

And if anyone has the answer, please let me know...

If we know where the 'insergents' aka terroristist are... like the ones in somalia, why do we screw around with helicopters and warships, and just don't drop a couple of 2000 lb bombs on their asses. Would it maybe offend the EU ?

We have the might, but our hands are tied behind our backs because of eing 'politically' correct.

I don't know about you, but I'm F*cking tired about losing our guys (possibly my son) because we're f*cking worried about being fair !

Saddam and cousin discussed killing thousands - tapes

They should have played these tapes durring Saddam's trial so that he would squirm in his chair a bit.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein and his cousin "Chemical Ali" discussed killing thousands with chemical weapons before unleashing them on Kurds in 1988, according to tapes played on Monday in a trial of former Iraqi officials.

Nine days after Saddam's hanging, his front-row seat in the dock was conspicuously empty, but Ali Hassan al-Majeed and five other Baath party officials remain on trialfor their roles in the 1988 Anfal, or Spoils of War, campaign in northern Iraq.

Hassan al-Majeed, cousin of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, listens to prosecution evidence during the "Anfal" genocide trial in Baghdad January 8, 2007. (REUTERS/Darko Vojinovic/Pool)"I will strike them with chemical weapons and kill them all," a voice identified by prosecutors as that of Majeed, Saddam's cousin and a senior aide, is heard saying.

"Who is going to say anything? The international community? A curse on the international community!" the voice continued.
"Yes, it's effective, especially on those who don't wear a mask immediately, as we understand," another voice, identified as that of Saddam, is heard saying on another tape.

"Sir, does it exterminate thousands?" a voice asks back.
"Yes, it exterminates thousands and forces them not to eat or drink and they will have to evacuate their homes without taking anything with them, until we can finally purge them," the voice identified as Saddam answers.

EU criticises alleged US airstrike in southern Somalia

It figures that those cheese eating surender monkeys would criticise us killing terrorists.

Brussels - The European Commission on Tuesday criticised the reported United States airstrike against a suspected al-Qaeda cell in southern Somalia, calling it counterproductive to peace efforts for the war-torn African country.

While there was a risk of foreign extremists operating from Somalia, 'any incident of that kind is not helpful in the long-term,' a commission spokesman told reporters.

The Somali interim government confirmed earlier Tuesday that at least 30 people had been killed in a US airstrike against a suspected al-Qaeda cell in southern Somalia.

The commission spokesman said that Somalia's fundamental problem was a lack of state, adding: 'Only a political solution can bring serious chances for lasting peace and stability.'

Here we go again....ACLU sues state police

Glad to see that the ACLU is right on top of things protecting the criminals and illegal aliens.

By Karen Lee Ziner
Journal Staff Writer

PROVIDENCE — The Rhode Island Affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union yesterday filed a federal lawsuit against the state police, alleging racial profiling and violation of the constitutional rights of 14 Guatemalan nationals during a July traffic stop that led to their detention by immigration officials.

The lawsuit alleges that Chabot first confirmed that Tamup’s license and registration were valid and that he had no criminal record.

“Chabot nonetheless proceeded to open the doors of the vehicle, and by utilizing Tamup as a translator, requested all the passengers to also provide identification,” according to an ACLU synopsis of the case. When some failed to do so, Chabot then asked them to produce documents “demonstrating their U.S. citizenship.”

When none of the 14 were able to do so, Chabot advised them that they would all be escorted to the federal Office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Providence.

Sorry, but I see nothing wrong with what the trooper did. It's actions like this that may catch some terrorists.

Stuck in the Middle Ages, Muslims Still Sacrificing Animals

Tip of the hat to the muslim question

From FOX News:

More Than 1,000 Wounded During Muslim Animal Sacrifice in Turkey

Ankara, Turkey — One man lost his toes. Others cut their hands and legs.
Hundreds of Turks spent the first day of the Muslim feast of Eid al-Adha holiday in emergency wards on Sunday, after stabbing themselves or suffering other injuries while sacrificing startled and agitated sheep and other animals.

Muslims sacrifice cows, sheep, goats and bulls during the four-day religious holiday, a ritual commemorating the biblical account of God's provision of a ram for Abraham to sacrifice as he was about to slay his son. They share the meat with friends, family and neighbors and give part of it to the poor.

In Turkey, at least 1,413 people — called "amateur butchers" by the Turkish media — were treated at hospitals across the country, most suffering cuts to their hands and legs, the Anatolia news agency reported.
Four people were severely injured when they were crushed under the weight of large animals that fell on top of them, the agency reported. Another person was hurt when a crane, used to lift an animal, tumbled onto him, the agency said.

Three people suffered heart attacks and died while trying to restrain animals, according to television reports.
Two bulls escaped and caused havoc in the streets of the central Turkish city of Kayseri and in the southeastern province of Sanliurfa, until they were caught with the help of veterinarians who fired tranquilizer darts.

Turkish authorities have introduced fines for those who slaughter animals outside facilities set up by municipalities. But many Turks again ignored the rules and sacrificed animals in their backyards or on roadsides.
