Ted Kennedy Wants Windmills Killed

I once heard on 'Rush' that Teddy was all for ridding ourselves of dependance of mideastern oil, but didn't want us to drill in Alaska, or create any offshore drilling. He also didn't want to see the windmills anywhere near his summer home, but didn't mind them being somewhere else (do as I say, not as I do). Here's another story.....

Self-proclaimed alternative energy proponent Sen. Ted Kennedy has strongly opposed an environmentally friendly "wind farm" off the coast of Massachusetts - and now it appears Kennedy will have his way.

The Cape Wind Project would erect 130 windmills in Nantucket Sound and could provide three-fourths of the power needed by Cape Cod and nearby islands, which is now largely supplied by coal-fired plants.

But the project had a powerful enemy in Sen. Kennedy, who has voiced strong support for alternative energy projects - as long as they are not in his backyard.

And let me introduce you to Robert Kennedy who wants us all to drive battery operated cars (do as I say, not as I do) but flys around (not on government busniss, but just for fun) in his own jet that would burn enough fuel(in one trip to France) that the average person uses in a lifetime.

"The problem was not aesthetic; the Kennedys wouldn't be able to actually see the turbines from their home. Instead Robert Kennedy Jr., who had been beating the drum for alternative sources of energy for more than a decade, complained that the project would be built in one of the family's favorite sailing and yachting areas."

I'm gonna take a 'wait and see' attitude

My first knee jerk respose to the Dubai debate was 'What the hell are they thinking'. But after hearing auguments from both sides, I'm gonna wait. My gut feeling is I still don't trust ANY Arab nation. They are VERY patient, and can turn on you as the result of one conflict.

Michelle Malkin adds....

The parent company of Dubai Ports World participates in the Arab boycott against Israel, The Jerusalem Post reports in an exclusive today (hat tip Thomas Rosser):
--------------------------------------
"Yes, of course the boycott is still in place and is still enforced," Muhammad Rashid a-Din, a staff member of the Dubai Customs Department's Office for the Boycott of Israel, told the Post in a telephone interview.

"If a product contained even some components that were made in Israel, and you wanted to import it to Dubai, it would be a problem," he said.

A-Din noted that while the head office for the anti-Israel boycott sits in Damascus, he and his fellow staff members are paid employees of the Dubai Customs Department, which is a division of the PCZC, the same Dubai government-owned entity that runs Dubai Ports World.

Moreover, the Post found that the website for Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone Area, which is also part of the PCZC, advises importers that they will need to comply with the terms of the boycott.

In a section entitled "Frequently Asked Questions", the site lists six documents that are required in order to clear an item through the Dubai Customs Department. One of them, called a "Certificate of Origin," "is used by customs to confirm the country of origin and needs to be seen by the office which ensures any trade boycotts are enforced," according to the website.

A-Din of the Israel boycott office confirmed that his office examines certificates of origin as a means of verifying whether a product originated in the Jewish state.

On at least three separate occasions last year, the Post has learned, companies were fined by the US government's Office of Anti-boycott Compliance, an arm of the Commerce Department, on charges connected to boycott-related requests they had received from the Government of Dubai.

US law bars firms from complying with such requests or cooperating with attempts by Arab governments to boycott Israel.

And from the capital of the UAE via the Khaleej Times (hat tip: Christopher Flickinger):

Close on the heels of the cartoon controversy raging across the Muslim world, it is the turn of an upscale American school in Abu Dhabi to ruffle Muslim sentiments by teaching lessons that allegedly ''smell of racism.''

Over 100 copies of the social studies text book, 'World Cultures' taught to the sixth grade children were confiscated by the Ministry of Education yesterday, for allegedly presenting Islam and the Muslim countries including Gulf states in a negative light while glorifying Israel on the other hand, Khaleej Times has learnt.

It has been accused that chapter 25 of the book running from page 599 to 614 contains a deluge of derogatory remarks against Islam and the Muslim world, for example, dubbing Middle East as one of the most dangerously explosive areas in the world and the Muslim conquest of India as the most bloodiest in the world history, to mention a few.

The sub chapters clubbed under the title 'North Africa and the Middle East' also elaborate on the religion and life-style of Israel with pictures. "Israel is one of a few democracies in North Africa and the Middle East today. Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Morocco are all kingdoms; the country of Syria has sponsored terrorism by giving aid to radicals in the Palestine Liberation Organisation, known as the PLO," read excerpts from page 610 of the book, copies of which Khaleej Times possess.

Juma Salami, Assistant Undersecretary to Foreign Private Education said that the book published by Silver Burdett Ginn has a racist tone and is insulting to the country's religion and culture. "It is not a community school and a good number of Muslim and Arab children are studying there. By incorporating the book in the syllabus, the schools have failed to show respect to the religious sentiments of the host country."

Forbes magazine notes:

Dubai, in the final analysis, is still very much a part of the Middle East and Islamic world, where it finds itself geographically, politically and culturally. Its remarkable success--steering a delicate middle course between currents of Islamic extremism that are found as near as its much larger, though scarcely as prosperous, neighbor, Saudi Arabia, and the tolerant moderation valued so deeply by the West--has insulated it from terrorism and lets the sheikh's palace sit with its gates all but unguarded deep into the night.

Yet Dubai, the single most prosperous of the seven emirates, is still very much a part of the Arab world.

Go ahead. Yell "Islamophobia!"

These are reasons that make me a little worried about the ports being turned over to the UAE

– The UAE was one of three countries in the world to recognize the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.

– The UAE has been a key transfer point for illegal shipments of nuclear components to Iran, North Korea and Lybia.

– According to the FBI, money was transferred to the 9/11 hijackers through the UAE banking system.

– After 9/11, the Treasury Department reported that the UAE was not cooperating in efforts to track down Osama Bin Laden’s bank accounts.

other than that, I don't have an issue

Followup - Justice not served

Let me remind you that this guy was on death row for 25 years, and they couldn't find anyone? As coach Ditka would say... Who are you crappin.

US prison can't find doctor willing to execute convict

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - A condemned US inmate's execution was cancelled after prison officials in California could not find a doctor or nurse willing to administer the lethal injection.

And of course the ACLU is here to protect the criminal ( must not have any boy scout troops to shut down)

"We are really relieved to see we will now have a careful review of the issues," ACLU attorney Natasha Minsker said while confirming the Morales execution has been cancelled.

Lawyers for Morales petitioned Fogel to stop the execution on the grounds prison officials were hastily improvising an execution that could be unconstitutionally painful for Morales.

unlike his victim

Let me remind you that Morales strangled Winchell with a belt, pounded her head with a hammer, dragged her into a vineyard and raped her, Schwarzenegger recounted while explaining his decision to refuse clemency.
Morales then stabbed Winchell in the chest before leaving her to die, according to the case against him.

PROOF that Bush is making a mistake ! Carter hasn't gotten anything right yet !

Carter backs Bush's stand on seaport-operations deal

Former President Jimmy Carter downplayed criticism of White House support of an Arab-owned company's purchase of a major seaport-operations firm.

story....

See anything wrong with this logic?

Attorneys for Michael Morales have filed two appeals with the U.S. Supreme Court in a last ditch attempt to prevent his execution.

His attorney says that the method of execution, lethal injection, is cruel and unusual punishment and therefore his execution should be stopped.

You ask what did he do?.....

The 46-year-old Morales was sentence to die as a result of his conviction for the brutal murder of 17-year-old Terri Winchell of Lodi, California in 1981. After raping Winchell, Morales then tried to strangle her, beat her with a hammer and stabbed her according to police findings.

He's now on this earth ANOTHER day so that they can figure out a way to give him a PAINLESS way to die. Isn't that just great !

I guess I'm just in a pissed off mood today, but.....

I grew up in the 50's in the middle of Chicago. My dad served in WWII, had a tavern about 8 blocks from Chicago Stadium, and most of his customers were guys who also served. They were not 'arrogant' , but they thought that no one outside of our country should have ANY influence over what we do. I was just a kid, but I knew most of those guys pretty well, and I'll bet that they would say.... If you don't like what we're doing, that's too f'king bad, and if you want to do something about it.... come on over and try to stop it.

To bad we as a country now are bending to terrorists ( I can't blame the younger generation because I know too many kids that are in the military and think the same way I do). but I'll bet that the older generation is spinning in their graves. Here's an example of what I'm talking about.......

Allah Conquers the United Nations

Logos are usually not chosen at random but rather for the message they convey, though sometimes mistakes seem to happen.
Logos can easily offend people, certainly those who have a very broad definition of blasphemy. This is the Arabic script for "Allah." It resembles a flame with five tongues that increase in size:
Six years ago Nike had to recall 800,000 shoes because Muslims took offense at the logo on a certain brand of its models. According to "offended" Muslims the logo could be read as "Allah." Below is the shoe logo:

France's Last Chance?

France has many very large problems, but the chief among them is a so-far indigestible Moslem minority which views itself as Moslem rather than French. If France does not solve this problem, then only disaster will result - either France will come under Islamic domination, or an ethnic war will break out between the French and the Moslems, ending when one side is exterminated and/or expelled. The only solution is to get the Moslems to integrate fully into French life - and only a man of conservative political ideas can even attempt such a thing. France has one, according to The Weekly Standard:

Listen to Col. Stephenson and Judge for Yourself

From the powerline blog

Yesterday, we interviewed Lt. Col. Bob Stephenson on the Northern Alliance Radio Network. You can listen to the interview here.

The Democratic Party has undertaken an organized campaign to drive Col. Stephenson, two fellow servicemen and the families of servicemen who were killed in Iraq off the airways. The Democratic Party has officially pronounced that Col. Stephenson and his ads are "un-American." That such a thing could happen is almost beyond belief--a Marine officer with more than ten years of active duty labeled "un-American" for supporting America's foreign policy--but it is nevertheless true.

Listen to Col. Stephenson and the two ads and judge for yourself whether they are "un-American."

Prayer for our troops

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families
for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need.
I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
Amen

Terrorists win one battle - halting our freedom of speech

Boston Globe makes it clear, editors of THE PHOENIX say .....

''Our primary reason," the editors confessed, is ''fear of retaliation from . . . bloodthirsty Islamists who seek to impose their will on those who do not believe as they do . . . Simply stated, we are being terrorized, and . . . could not in good conscience place the men and women who work at the Phoenix and its related companies in physical jeopardy. As we feel forced, literally, to bend to maniacal pressure, this may be the darkest moment in our 40-year-publishing history."

The press would air the tapes of the beheadings as often as they print the pictures of the 'torture' at the various camps for the detainees. Plus.... I think it's time for the U.N. to join the ranks of the 'League of Nations'. (remember them?) They are just as useless. example....

----------

GENEVA (Reuters) - The United States on Thursday came under mounting international pressure to close its Guantanamo prison, with U.N. investigators saying detainees there faced treatment amounting to torture.

In a 40-page report, which had already been largely leaked, five
United Nations' special envoys said the United States was violating a host of human rights, including a ban on torture, arbitrary detention and the right to a fair trial.

Libs Say the Darndest Things

Thanks to Terry O'brien for this

"Gore said Arabs had been 'indiscriminately rounded up' and held in 'unforgivable' conditions. The former vice president said the Bush administration was playing into al-Qaida's hands by routinely blocking Saudi visa applications."

You can read more about Crazy Al here. Honesly, this guy is starting to make Tom Cruise look sane. I realize that a former Vice President and would-be presidential candidate's treasonous lies uttered in a foreign country, one from which 17 of the 9/11 hijackers called home, isn't as big a story as a hunting accident in Texas, but doesn't it merit just a tiny bit more coverage?

ACLU Blamed for First 'Real' TASER Death

Police Group Predicted ACLU's Actions Would Lead to Tragedy

The ACLU pushed for the ban of Tasers, so the police ended up shooting and killing this guy after he lunged at officers with a knife.

The death of Scott Dittman is exceptionally tragic because of the absence of alternatives available to the police officers on the scene. The Antioch police department has TASER less than lethal devices, but news reports quoting police officials suggest the department had suspended the use of TASERs due to the legal and political issues. A controversy LEAA believes was stirred up by the ACLU of Northern California when it issued a misleading and dangerous "study" on law enforcement use of TASERs late last year.

Good Post from Best View

We've learned in recent days FEMA trailers remain on acres of ground in Arkansas instead of being used to house Katrina evacuees. Yesterday I heard one of the reasons. Many of the places where those trailers are needed are in floodplains. There is some sort of a federal regulation which says that you cannot put one of these FEMA trailers in a floodplain. This is your government we're talking about. Common sense and efficiency? Evidently not. The reality is that most of these trailers will never be used. Taxpayers were asked for $800 million to buy the trailers and then insisted on enforcing rules which prevent them from being used.

About gun control

Ever hear the phrase ' If guns are outlawed, only the outlaws will have guns?

In Chicago guns are outlawed. Here is a recent Chicago Tribune article.....

Cache of guns seized on Southwest Side

Guns. Lots of them.

Big ones and small ones. Pump shotguns and six-shot revolvers. World War I-era single-action shooters and brand-new sniper rifles with the factory tags still on them.

In all, Chicago police seized more than 300 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition Wednesday from a Southwest Side home across an alley from an elementary school.

"To the best of my recollection, this is the largest gun seizure ever in Chicago," said Lt. Stephen Glombicki, who heads the Calumet Area gun unit.

Seething Midwest Explodes Over Lombardi Cartoons

Green Bay, WI - Like a pot of bratwurst left unattended at a Lambeau Field pregame party, simmering tensions in the strife-torn Midwest boiled over once again today as rioting mobs of green-and-gold clad youth and plump farm wives rampaged through Wisconsin Denny’s and IHOPs, burning Texas toast and demanding apologies and extra half-and-half.

The spark igniting the latest tailgate hibachi of unrest: a Texas newsletter's publication of caricatures of legendary Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi.
Protestors demonstrated against the images throughout the Badger State yesterday, with violent egging and cow-tipping incidents reported in Oconomowac, Pewaukee, Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Antigo, Oshkosh, Waubeno, Wauwautosa, Waunewoc, Wyocena, Waubeka, and Washawonamowackapeepee.

Ted 'the swimmer' Kennedy must have been squirming in his seat.....

When Jimmy was trying to critisize Bush's wiretaps by mentioning at Mrs. Kings funeral that the FBI even tapped her husbands phone while he was alive. If you remember, it was Teds brother Bobby that gave the FBI approval to do that hoping to dig up some dirt on him to shut him up.

-----------------------

The FBI collected information about Dr. King's plans and activities through an extensive surveillance program, employing nearly every intelligence-gathering technique at the Bureau's disposal. Wiretaps, which were initially approved by Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, were maintained on Dr. King's home telephone from October 1963 until mid-1965; the SCLC headquarter's telephones were covered by wiretaps for an even longer period. Phones in the homes and offices of some of Dr. King's close advisers were also wiretapped. The FBI has acknowledged 16 occasions on which microphones were hidden in Dr. King's hotel and motel rooms in an "attempt" to obtain information about the "private activities of King and his advisers" for use to "completely discredit" them.

Let's take advantage of a great business opportunity

While listening to the radio, the commentator

Here is a link to the famous 'cartoons'

Since none of our media outlets have the Balls to show it, we have to go to the internet. I myself don't see what the big deal is.

Here it is....

Isn't it strange.......

That the for 31 days, the New York Times either published photos of or included on their front page a story of abu ghraib, but has yet to show one of the cartoons that are causing all the chaos throughout the world. Looks like Radical Islam has already stopped our freedom of speech.
