Pelosi can't please everybody
Seems like Pelosi, and the rest of the Dems for that matter, are finding it more and more difficult to please the far left whaco's as well as stay in what they consider the 'mainstream'. It's gotta be rough not being to take a stand on ANYTHING, because you'll offend some part of your group. Here's an example.........
Anti-war activists take Pelosi to task Minority leader negotiates with lawmakers to her right.
Dozens of heckling, sign-toting anti-war protesters tried to take center stage at the congresswomen's town hall forum on national security -- calling for an immediate de-funding of the Iraq war and impeachment proceedings against President George Bush.
But the practiced Pelosi didn't miss a beat.
"This war in Iraq has been a grotesque mistake in my view -- a tragedy," Pelosi told a crowd of about 1,000 that overflowed the Marina Middle School Auditorium for the event.
Yet, as she explained that she doesn't want to immediately cut funding for those troops already in Iraq, about 40 protesters marched to the front of the stage. They faced the crowd, waving peace signs and a pink banner saying "Nancy, stop funding the war."
Hecklers in the audience chanted "No more money for war."
Pelosi just kept on talking.

The New York Times Wrong Again
I heard about this New York Times story originally on the radio ( they said that the picture had since been removed from their website), so I decided to check the blogs and came up with this. What is identified as the "remains of a missile" is quite clearly an artillery shell.
The warheads of missiles do not typically survive impact. Some tail pieces might. Also notice how the old man and young boy are featured in the shot. Accidental or are they implicated targets?
Bad, bad deal all around.

Left is on the wrong side again.....They want Clarence Ray Allen's Execution stopped
Here's the sob story.........
He will be given a chance to utter his last words but there likely will be none. He’s deaf, too. And he will probably roll, not walk, his “last mile” – not on a gurney but in his wheelchair. He is too feeble to walk.
If ever there were a case that reduces capital punishment to its essence, this is it. Ray Allen lost his liberty and his future 32 years ago. We can’t deprive him of his ability to communicate; his sight and hearing are gone. We can’t take his mobility, that’s gone too. Good health? Gone, swept away by diabetes and hypertension. Clarence Ray Allen is blind. If we allow his execution to proceed, so are we.
Here's my solution, put him into a nursing home and then the 'Left' will want to take out his feeding tube !!

Airline bans Bibles to avoid offending Muslims
Airline bans Bibles to avoid offending Muslims
A British airline banned its staff from taking Bibles and wearing crucifixes or St. Christopher medals on flights to Saudi Arabia to avoid offending the country's Muslims. . . British Midland International also has told female flight attendants they must walk two paces behind male colleagues and cover themselves from head to foot in a headscarf and robe known as an abaya, the Mirror newspaper of London reported. Are you kidding me? I think all of the female emplyees of that airline should walk off the job.
BMI spokesman Phil Shepherd said: "In providing air services people want, demand and use, we have an obligation to respect the customs of the destination country."
This airline has the customer service thing a little off kilter. They need to tell the Saudis to take a flying . . .

When Harry met Hillary - Hillary Clinton to Fundraise with Harry Belafonte
Birds of a feather flock together.
Here's a quote from her new buddy (and running mate?)
"No matter what the greatest tyrant in the world, the greatest terrorist in the world, George W. Bush says,” Belafonte told Chavez, "we’re here to tell you: Not hundreds, not thousands, but millions of the American people ... support your revolution.”
----------------------------------------
The New York Observer is reporting that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) will appear Thursday at a luncheon with Calypso singer turned Bush-bashing liberal activist Harry Belafonte.
The luncheon is an awards ceremony given by the Children’s Defense Fund, a liberal interest group.
Belafonte gained recent attention by calling President Bush the "world’s greatest terrorist” while visiting Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez.

Teddy should have given more thought.......
He's writing a childrens book "My Senator and Me: A Dog's-Eye View of Washington, D.C." . Knowing HIS history, I don't think he should have written a book about his Portuguese water dog named SPLASH. The dog is always by his side, too bad he didn't have him in back in the '60's.

ACLU Announces Opposition to Alito Nomination (1/9/2006)
I know for sure now, that Alito is the right guy.
If the ACLU is against him (in the 85 years it has been in existence, the ACLU has only twice opposed a nominee) that means he's the right guy for the job !

James Frey: Hollywood’s Favorite New Liar
Oprah says it doesn't matter if he lied.... he still helped a lot of people.
Oprah Winfrey broke her silence about James Frey's disputed memoir of addiction, "A Million Little Pieces," dismissing allegations of falsehoods as "much ado about nothing" and urging readers who have been inspired by the book to "Keep holding on."
Now that The Smoking Gun has revealed that much of the latest ascendant to the Oprah Book Club throne, the supposedly 100% true crime and addiction memoir A Million Little Pieces, was either embellished and/or completely fabricated by its author James Frey (for the reading averse, Gawker sums it up nicely), we are left stunned, disillusioned, not to mention completely in the dark with respect to the only thing we actually care about: What’s the deal with the movie?! From TSG’s report:
He has written the screenplay for “A Million Little Pieces” and has said that the film is being co-produced by Brad Pitt and directed by Mark Romanek. Frey is more than happy to tick off the top-shelf Hollywood actors (some of whom he counts as friends) up for the role of him: Ryan Gosling, Tobey Maguire, Orlando Bloom, Josh Hartnett, and Jake Gyllenhaal. “Whoever they’re gonna choose I’ll be happy with. I’m much more worried with the studio staying true to the story than I am about who they put in it,” Frey told Winfrey. Now in between books, he’s working on a screenplay about the Hell’s Angels for director Tony Scott.

Thoughts.....
Got this from the 'Best View' blog, at it's a good point.
Thoughts
I have been really busy trading stocks the last few days, but some of the Alito hearings were on in the background. I can't help wonder if the Democrats are as moronic as I think they are. It occurs to me that they must know they are going to lose and Alito will be confirmed. If so, could it be that Alito may just be human enough to remember when a case comes up where he has the chance to stick it to Kennedy, Schumer, etc in an instance where he may not have in the absence of such hostility. Just wondering.

Mouse burns down house in revenge
True story that I saw on Fox news last night.
Mouse burns down house in revenge By Catherine Elsworth in Los Angeles(Filed: 10/01/2006)
A mouse wreaked revenge on a pensioner who tried to kill it by tossing it on to a bonfire. It scuttled back into the man's house and set the building ablaze.
Luciano Mares, 81, had been bothered by mice, so when he trapped the creature in his home he was determined to dispose of it.
"I had some leaves burning outside and threw it in the fire," said Mr Mares, of Fort Sumner, a village in New Mexico.
As planned, the mouse caught fire. But then it suddenly sprinted back towards the wooden house and ran beneath a window.
The fire, which took the efforts of 13 firemen over three hours to extinguish, destroyed the entire contents of the house.
Mr Mares is now staying at a local motel.

Time out from the political stuff to talk about one of my passions
Da Bearsssssssssssssssss -
Keys to a victory over Carolina are...
1. PLAY GREAT DEFENSE
The defense should benefit from the extra rest. And if the defense is at its best and playing with a frenzy, the Bears can beat anyone
2. RUN THE BALL
No doubt it would have been easier to run the ball against the Giants, but the Bears need to attack the Panthers the same way Carolina attacked the Giants.
3. PROTECT THE BALL
The Panthers have a plus-16 turnover differential for the season, third best in the NFL. Given Grossman's gunslinger mentality, he's more inclined to try to squeeze passes into tight spaces in the opponent's territory, and the Bears can't afford to lose so much as one field-goal opportunity.
4. CONTAIN STEVE SMITH
Smith has had monster games against every team, but the simple fact is he's the playmaker and touchdown producer for the Panthers, so you have to be aware of his on every play. Shut him down, and this offense stops.
5. CATCH THE BALL
Muhammad needs to be at his best in this game, as does every other Bears receiver. Kyle Orton enjoyed his best game as a pro in the first meeting, though it wasn't reflected in his passer rating because of Muhammad's drops and two others by Desmond Clark. Hopefully with Grossman back, our passing game will open up.

Child rapist gets 60 days because liberal judge no longer believes in punnishment
Yet another example of why the libs can't be allowed to be in charge
He raped a 7 year old girl countless times, but only gets 60 days.... I hope the judge burns in hell.
Judge Edward Cashman's light sentence was the talk of the town. Wednesday he sentenced child rapist Mark Hulett to 60 days in jail. Hulett admitted he raped a little girl countless times when she was between 7 and 10 years old.
The judge says did it because he no longer believes in punishment and he wants to speed the rapist's entry into a rehabilitation program.
